Ram’s New Rumble Bee Muscle Truck Starts Below $60K With 395-HP HEMI V8
Orders opened today for the 2027 Ram 1500 Rumble Bee, and Ram is pricing the entry-level truck at $59,995 before a $2,795 destination charge — putting a factory HEMI V8 muscle truck within reach of buyers who’ve never had a factory option quite like this. The truck pairs a 5.7-liter HEMI V8 producing 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque with the industry’s only production Quad Cab, short-bed, widebody configuration, and Ram says first deliveries will hit dealerships in the fourth quarter of 2026.
This isn’t just a performance-trim pickup with a stripe package. Ram is positioning the Rumble Bee as the foundation of an entirely new muscle-truck subsegment — one where buyers can walk into the dealership parts counter and order a factory-backed supercharger kit targeting more than 600 horsepower the same day they pick up the keys.
A Widebody Pickup Built Around Performance Proportions
The Rumble Bee’s most distinctive feature isn’t under the hood — it’s the shape of the truck itself. The Quad Cab, short-bed, widebody layout results in a wheelbase 13 inches shorter than a standard Ram 1500 Quad Cab, which Ram says reduces frame flex by 10 percent for sharper response to driver inputs. Track width grows by nearly seven inches at each axle, giving the truck a planted, muscular stance that standard half-tons simply can’t replicate.
That wider footprint is matched with performance hardware from the factory: Bilstein monotube shocks, a 3.92 rear axle ratio, full-time active four-wheel drive with selectable rear-wheel-drive mode, and a TorqueFlite 8HP75 eight-speed automatic. At launch, the truck rides on optional 22-by-10-inch wheels wrapped in 285/45R22 all-season tires, with 20-by-10-inch wheels and 305/50R20 tires arriving as late-availability standard equipment. Towing capacity reaches 8,890 pounds when properly equipped, and payload comes in at 1,150 pounds — numbers that keep the Rumble Bee honest as a working truck.
Inside The Cabin, The Driver Comes First
Ram has built the interior around the person behind the wheel. A flat-bottom performance steering wheel with thumb rests and aluminum paddle shifters sits ahead of a full-color 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster that displays a Rumble Bee start-up graphic on ignition. The G/T console shifter and transfer case switch bank reinforce the performance intent without abandoning the truck’s practical roots.
The infotainment setup centers on an 8.4-inch Uconnect 5 touchscreen. Seating is cloth bucket with medium Greystone accent stitching and manual operation — a deliberate choice that keeps the base price accessible. Black Onyx Chrome accents run throughout. Available appearance and functional upgrades include Mopar bedside and hood graphics in low-gloss black, a Bed Utility Group with a 115-volt AC outlet and deployable bed step, a trailer brake controller, and two tonneau-cover options including a tri-fold hard cover that’s new to the 1500 lineup.
Direct Connection Makes The Dealership The Starting Line
The cultural shift Ram is engineering here is as significant as the hardware. Direct Connection performance parts — developed with established aftermarket partners — are planned to arrive shortly after the truck itself in Q4 2026, meaning buyers can spec out upgrades at the parts counter rather than waiting months for the aftermarket to catch up to a new platform.\
The headline piece is a Direct Connection supercharger kit targeting more than 600 horsepower, priced at $10,995 before installation. A suspension kit developed with Ridetech carries an MSRP of $4,950, and a Magnaflow performance exhaust comes in at $1,599. All Direct Connection parts carry warranty protection and OEM-level validation — a meaningful distinction from bolt-on aftermarket alternatives. As Tim Kuniskis, head of American Brands and SRT Performance, put it in the announcement: most buyers ordering a Rumble Bee are already planning their dream build, and Direct Connection is designed to make that build start on day one.
Three More Variants Are Coming, And The Numbers Get Serious
The 5.7-liter HEMI model opening for orders today is the entry point. Ram has confirmed three additional Rumble Bee variants arriving in the first half of 2027, each stepping up in power and price. The Rumble Bee 392 starts at $69,995, the 392 Track Pack at $79,995, and the Rumble Bee SRT — which Ram describes as the most track-capable production pickup in the world — at $94,995. All three will be powered by distinct HEMI V8 configurations, though Ram has not yet detailed the specific output figures for the higher trims.
For buyers ordering now, the sub-$60K price point represents real value for what’s on offer: a factory-widebody muscle truck with a proven HEMI, genuine towing and payload numbers, and a clear upgrade path through Direct Connection. Ram CEO Matt Van Dyke framed it plainly in the announcement — buyers no longer have to choose between the practicality of a pickup and the visceral appeal of American muscle.
Six exterior colors are planned at launch and through late availability, including the period-correct Rumble Bee Yellow Clear-Coat. Orders are open now; deliveries begin in Q4 2026.
