Ram fans have been asking for one thing for years, and it finally happened. The Power Wagon can now be had with the Cummins turbo diesel under the hood, ending a wait that goes back longer than most owners care to admit.
Ram pulled the cover off during “Resurrection,” a short film hosted by American Brands boss Tim Kuniskis that also served as the debut stage for the returning Ram 1500 SRT TRX. The message was simple: customers asked, Ram listened.
The result is a Power Wagon that keeps everything that made it the most off-road-capable full-size pickup on the market while adding the diesel muscle and long-haul range its buyers have been begging for. It arrives in the second half of 2026, and it’s not cheap.
Ram didn’t reinvent the interior for the diesel Power Wagon, and it didn’t need to. The cabin carries over the best-in-class layout found across the Heavy Duty lineup, with premium materials and craftsmanship throughout.
A heated cloth bench seat comes standard for buyers who want a work-first setup. Anyone wanting more comfort can step up to heated and ventilated leather-trimmed bucket seats.
The Power Wagon Level 2 Equipment Group extends leather to the touchpoints that matter, including the grab handles and the column shifter. It’s a small upgrade that changes how the cabin feels day to day.
Every Power Wagon with the Cummins gets a 12-inch Uconnect 5 touchscreen out of the box. An integrated trailer brake controller is standard, too.
Buyers can option up to the 14.5-inch Uconnect 5 display, the largest in the class. Pair it with the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and there’s screen real estate everywhere you look.
The class-exclusive front passenger interactive display gives the person riding shotgun their own 10.25-inch screen. It’s a segment-first feature that’s genuinely useful on long hauls.
Optional trailer tow and off-road info pages put the data where the driver can actually use it. That means live off-road readouts on the trail and full trailer monitoring on the highway.
Alpine’s nine-speaker system and Harman Kardon’s 17-speaker setup are both on the options sheet. Standard safety kit covers adaptive cruise control, Blind-spot Monitoring with trailer coverage, Pedestrian Detection, Rear Cross Path detection, ParkSense front and rear park assist, and a ParkView backup camera with dynamic gridlines.
The Power Wagon’s exterior design has become iconic in its own right, blending function and aggression into a look nobody mistakes for a standard 2500. The diesel version doesn’t dilute any of it.
A sport performance hood comes standard, hinting at the best-in-class base diesel torque sitting underneath. It’s the clearest visual cue separating this truck from the rest of the Heavy Duty lineup.
