Honda’s flagship touring bike, the Gold Wing, is often considered the benchmark in the touring segment, with luxurious creature comforts and smooth flat-six power delivery. Big Red says the Gold Wing proves that performance and comfort aren’t mutually exclusive. For 2027, Honda says the Gold Wing will continue to do so, returning to the United States with no major mechanical changes and an MSRP starting at $25,700.
The Honda Gold Wing has been around for over 50 years, taking tourers to the far ends of the country and beyond. Over the years, it has undergone significant refinement, and today, in its sixth-generation form, the Honda touring bike is said to offer exceptional comfort, sophisticated technology, and smooth performance. For 2027, it carries over these qualities.
To that end, the Gold Wing features the same 1,833cc liquid-cooled flat-six engine known for its smooth, versatile character. The flat-six engine is paired with either a 6-speed manual transmission with electric starter-motor-enabled reversing function or a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission with walking and reverse modes.
Similarly, the hardware remains the same, including the twin-spar frame and single-sided swingarm with a built-in driveshaft. Suspension includes a unique double-wishbone front suspension and a Pro-Link rear suspension, both using Showa shock absorbers. The Tour models also feature electronic preload adjustment and electronic damping control.
The design stays the same, too, said to be focused on aerodynamics and comfort. Up front, an electronically height- and angle-adjustable stepless windscreen and available wind deflectors provide wind protection, while air-guiding ducts allow ventilation on warmer days.
The rider seat is 29.3 inches off the ground, designed for long-distance comfort and freedom of movement. Both seats are wrapped in a premium suede-like cover. On the Tour models, the 24.5-degree passenger backrest angle is said to create a relaxed riding position. All models feature heated grips, and the Tour models add heated seats.
The trunkless standard Gold Wing’s sidecases hold 8 gallons each, and the Tour’s topcase adds 16 gallons of storage, bringing total capacity to 32 gallons. The Japanese firm says the trunk can also hold two full-face XXL helmets.
Tech features include a 7-inch TFT display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support. Non-Tour models feature two 45-watt speakers, and the Tour’s trunk adds two additional speakers and an XM radio antenna. Rider aids include four riding modes (Tour, Sport, Econ, and Rain), combined ABS, traction control, hill start assist, and an available airbag. Cruise control and keyless ignition are also standard.
The 2027 Honda Gold Wing will be available in five trims: the trunkless standard Gold Wing with manual or DCT; the Gold Wing Tour with manual or DCT; and the flagship Gold Wing Tour Airbag Automatic DCT, the only motorcycle in the world with an airbag.
Pricing for the Gold Wing is as follows:
Honda says the Gold Wing Tour models will arrive at dealerships in the US this month, followed by the standard Gold Wing models next month.
