We Put Tavarish’s Twin Turbo Kit on Our Salvage Lamborghini
Owning a cheap Lamborghini sounds wonderful until you remember why it was cheap. Our salvage Lamborghini Gallardo already needed plenty of attention, but Saxon still drove it into Tavarish’s shop under its own power with a fairly innocent plan to compare cars, exchange a few rare factory parts, inspect the turbo kit, and head home.
Tavarish is rebuilding a 2008 Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder, and replacement factory components for an almost 20-year-old Italian supercar are becoming increasingly difficult to find. Fortunately, Saxon’s Gallardo coupe still contains several stock parts that Tavarish needs. Unfortunately, once Freddy Hernandez began inspecting the car, the friendly exchange developed into a detailed investigation of everything its previous owners had done.
Tavarish Needed Parts From Our Lamborghini Gallardo
The original plan was essentially an organ transplant between two wounded Lamborghinis. Saxon’s Gallardo still contains several factory components that have become difficult and expensive to find, while Tavarish needs those exact stock parts to complete his 2008 Gallardo Spyder. Before removing anything, the pair parked both cars together and worked out which pieces Tavarish needed and what Saxon could receive in return.
That straightforward Lamborghini parts swap quickly became something much larger. Once Tavarish began inspecting Saxon’s Gallardo and removing bodywork, questionable repairs from previous owners started appearing everywhere. The car may be mostly stock, but that apparently includes a spray-painted oil tank, crunchy Alcantara, and several modifications suggesting that somebody once considered zip ties an engineering qualification.
Our Lamborghini Gallardo’s Engine Is Coming Out
Saxon already suspected that the Gallardo’s engine would require serious work, especially with a large turbo kit waiting to transform it into something far more violent. Tavarish inspected the hardware, explained exactly what those enormous turbochargers could do, and then confirmed what everyone had been trying not to say too loudly: the engine needs to come out.
What began as a Lamborghini parts swap became a complete Gallardo inspection, a turbo-system lesson, and another reminder that previous owners can be considerably scarier than repair bills. Saxon arrived at Tavarish’s shop in a running Lamborghini and left knowing exactly how much work lies ahead, which technically counts as progress if nobody looks too closely at the growing parts bill.
