Lexus announced 2027 RX pricing on September 22, and the numbers tell a clear story: the brand’s best-selling SUV now costs significantly more to get into, without a single new feature to justify it. By eliminating the RX 350 Standard and RX 350h Standard trims, Lexus forces every entry-level buyer up into the Premium grade, pushing the front-wheel-drive RX 350’s starting price from $52,775 to $55,450, a jump of $2,675. The all-wheel-drive version climbs by the same amount, from $54,375 to $57,050.

Hybrid buyers aren’t spared either. The RX 350h’s starting price rises from $55,075 to $57,750. The powertrains, platform, and performance specs carry over unchanged from last year. The only visible update across the entire lineup is an optional set of red brake calipers, available on the F Sport Handling and F Sport Performance grades.

Trim Elimination Is Doing Most Of The Work Here

The math is worth breaking down because it reveals what actually happened. The individual Premium trims themselves only rose by about $500, a routine year-over-year bump. The bulk of that $2,675 increase comes from Lexus simply removing the cheaper Standard trim as an option, forcing shoppers into the better-equipped Premium grade whether they wanted the extra content or not. It’s a pricing move dressed up as a product update.

The RX 450h+ plug-in hybrid saw a comparatively tame $100 increase, since it never had a Standard trim to lose. That contrast makes the RX 350 and RX 350h increases look even more deliberate. Once the 2027 RX reaches dealers this fall, the full lineup spans from $55,450 for the RX 350 Premium FWD up to $73,510 for the RX 450h+ Luxury AWD, all six trims and four powertrains intact, just priced higher at the door.

Drive Connect Trial Shrinks From Three Years To Three Months

The more consequential change for owners might not be the sticker price at all. Vehicles equipped with the 14-inch touchscreen previously came with a three-year trial of Drive Connect, which covers cloud navigation and the “Hey Lexus” voice assistant. For 2027, that trial drops to just three months. Anyone who wants to keep using those features after the trial ends will need to pay for a subscription.

There’s a partial offset: Remote Connect, which covers remote start, locking, and climate control through the Lexus app, now runs for five years instead of three. Shoppers should treat the connected-services fine print the same way they’d treat any subscription bundle. Ask what’s free after the trial, what a renewal costs, and whether the feature you actually want depends on cellular service that may lapse.

How The RX Stacks Up Against Its Cross-Shop List

The timing puts the RX in an uncomfortable spot next to its rivals. The redesigned Land Cruiser just landed at $58,080, which now sits within a few thousand dollars of a well-equipped RX 350 AWD, but comes with genuine off-road hardware the RX doesn’t try to match. Buyers who’d normally default to the RX for its badge and resale value may find themselves cross-shopping harder than before, especially against the Acura MDX and Infiniti QX60, which haven’t seen comparable trim cuts.

The RX still has real strengths working in its favor. It topped 80,000 U.S. sales through August 2026, and it holds a five-year resale value near 70%, better than most German competitors. JD Power also rates it well above the BMW X3 for quality and reliability. But those advantages existed before this price increase, too. Lexus isn’t adding value this year; it’s asking buyers to pay more for the value that was already there, plus a color palette that shrank from ten choices to eight, losing Eminent White Pearl and Copper Crest along the way.

For shoppers currently cross-referencing configurators, the practical takeaway is simple: the 2027 RX isn’t a worse vehicle than its predecessor, but it’s a pricier one to get into with less connected-services runway before the subscription meter starts. Anyone not fixated on having the newest model year might find the outgoing 2026 RX, with its lower entry price and longer Drive Connect trial, still sitting on dealer lots at a discount worth chasing.
