The Cadillac Escalade has never been a vehicle for people who enjoy quietly blending into traffic. It is big, bold, and about as subtle as arriving at dinner in a private helicopter. The electric Escalade IQ pushes that personality even further with its enormous proportions, wall-sized dashboard display, and enough performance to embarrass much smaller machines.

Apparently, Cadillac still thinks some buyers will find the regular version a little too ordinary. Its newest program brings the hand-built treatment of the ultra-exclusive Celestiq to the electric SUV, allowing customers to work directly with designers and create something almost nobody else will own. The possibilities stretch into the millions, but turning an Escalade IQ into a rolling luxury barge comes with a suitably enormous price.

Cadillac Offers More Than 160 Exterior Finishes

Curated by Cadillac Escalade IQ is a new customization program for the 2027 model. Instead of clicking through a few paint colors on an online configurator, customers receive assistance from a dedicated design concierge who works alongside them and their Cadillac dealer.

The exterior palette contains more than 160 premium colors and finishes. Choices include solid colors, metallics, tri-coats, frosts, and matte finishes, giving customers plenty of opportunities to create something tasteful, outrageous, or visible from the International Space Station.

Cadillac also offers up to 44 interior colors. Customers can create different combinations across all three seating rows, the center console, and even the floor mats. Between the exterior finishes and cabin materials, Cadillac says millions of design combinations are possible.

The process is intended to feel more like commissioning a bespoke luxury product than ordering another SUV. Guided configuration sessions, design consultations, visual inspiration, and carefully developed customer personas will help buyers avoid accidentally creating a six-figure vehicle that looks like a casino carpet.

Each Escalade IQ will be hand-painted and assembled by artisans at Cadillac’s Artisan Center in Warren, Michigan. It will also receive a unique VIN and serialized builder’s badge, ensuring nobody mistakes it for the Escalade IQ parked three spaces away at the country club.

The Escalade IQ Still Has Serious Electric Muscle

The Curated program concentrates on appearance and exclusivity, but the enormous electric SUV underneath remains seriously capable. Cadillac estimates the Escalade IQ can travel up to 465 miles on a full charge, although that figure has not yet received an official EPA rating.

Activating Velocity Max unlocks up to 750 horsepower and 785 lb-ft of torque. Cadillac says that is enough to launch the Escalade IQ from zero to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds on a closed course. That is an absurd amount of urgency for a three-row luxury SUV with the visual presence of a high-end apartment building.

Inside, a 55-inch Horizon display stretches across the dashboard. Super Cruise hands-free driver assistance is also included with a three-year connected-service plan, after which owners will need to purchase an eligible subscription to continue using it. The Escalade IQ can also support vehicle-to-home bidirectional charging when paired with compatible GM Energy equipment. During a power outage, the giant luxury EV could potentially help keep a properly equipped house running. That may be the most practical excuse anyone has ever used to justify ordering an Escalade with personalized floor mats.

Customization Alone Costs Nearly $55,000

The Curated by Cadillac package costs $54,995, and that does not include the Escalade IQ itself. Taxes, title, license charges, dealer fees, and any dealer-added adjustments are also separate. In other words, customers are paying nearly $55,000 for the personalization experience before buying the vehicle beneath it. That amount could purchase an entire well-equipped compact luxury SUV, but ordinary value calculations probably do not apply to someone deciding between 160 paint finishes.

Cadillac will offer these vehicles in extremely limited numbers in the United States and Canada. Production is scheduled for the 2027 model year, with customer deliveries expected to begin during the second half of 2027. Before then, Cadillac will display a Curated by Cadillac Escalade IQ concept at The Quail in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California, on August 14, 2026.

This program will not make sense to everyone, and that is precisely the point. Cadillac is not trying to sell thousands of identical electric SUVs. It is offering a handful of wealthy customers the opportunity to build an Escalade IQ so personal that losing it in a parking lot should be nearly impossible.
