NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Nissan Americas is making its hometown pride unmistakable at Nashville International Airport (BNA). Beginning this month, travelers will be greeted by a series of bold installations – from a rooftop ‘Welcome to Nashville’ display featuring a Nissan Z on a building next to the airport, to a 14-foot-tall Pathfinder Rock Creek encased in vintage toy packaging – all celebrating Nissan’s 8,000+ full-time employees in Tennessee and the company’s deep roots in the state.

The Nashville area is home to Nissan’s Americas headquarters and award-winning Smyrna Vehicle Assembly Plant – a critical part of Nissan’s U.S. footprint since 1983, including nearly 15 years of INFINITI assembly in Tennessee. Just down the road in Decherd, Tennessee, is Nissan’s Powertrain Assembly Plant, which recently celebrated the major milestone of assembling 20 million engines since opening in 1977.

‘Nissan’s roots run deep in Middle Tennessee, where rugged and confident vehicles like Pathfinder are assembled by our talented team,’ said Victor Taylor, division vice president, U.S. manufacturing, supply chain management and production engineering, Nissan Americas. ‘This takeover is a tribute to the thousands of Tennessee employees who power our brand every day, and a bold reminder that Nissan is woven into the fabric of this community.’

The large rooftop installation adjacent to the airport is visible day and night, with the Z’s headlights and taillights illuminated for arriving and departing fliers. A real Nissan Z was used for the display – stripped down, reinforced and custom-mounted for its rooftop debut. Angled toward runway 20R, the installation gives travelers a new landmark to spot as they approach Nashville.

Inside the terminal, travelers will encounter a 14-foot-tall recreation of a plastic toy-car package — looking like it came right off the store shelf — with the Tennessee-assembled1 Pathfinder Rock Creek. Positioned in a high-traffic area after security, the display includes a QR code linking to NissanUSA.com for visitors to learn more about the off-road-ready SUV.

The campaign extends throughout the airport with a series of videos featuring employees from Nissan’s Smyrna Vehicle Assembly Plant, showcasing the people behind Tennessee’s manufacturing excellence and the brand’s continued momentum in the U.S.

‘Nashville International Airport is proud to partner with Nissan in celebrating a company that has helped shape the economic vitality of Middle Tennessee for more than four decades,’ said Doug Kreulen, president and CEO, Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority. ‘As two of the region’s largest economic engines, Nissan and BNA play a critical role in attracting businesses, jobs and investments from around the world. Together, we are creating a welcome experience that reflects the innovation, craftsmanship and community pride that define Middle Tennessee.’

The rooftop welcome, Pathfinder Rock Creek exhibit and videos will be featured through the end of October, welcoming more than 2 million passengers who fly through BNA on a monthly basis.
