Royal Enfield is set to expand its retro motorcycle lineup with a new flagship in the form of the Continental GT 750. The new cafe racer ushers in more performance and a sharper interpretation of its classic British retro design. The Continental GT 750 shares its new engine with Royal Enfield’s upcoming Himalayan 750. It also introduces different body styles, allowing riders to choose between the traditional cafe racer styling and a new, more aggressive race-inspired silhouette. This motorcycle is Royal Enfield’s second step towards expanding into the larger-capacity motorcycle segment, and the new engine platform is expected to be seen on its other 650cc motorcycles as well.
Unveiled at EICMA 2026, the new Royal Enfield Continental GT 750 shares its engine platform with the Himalayan 750 but has enough updates to set itself apart from the adventure tourer and offer a different flavor of motorcycling. A noticeable difference is the use of cable-operated throttle instead of the ride-by-wire system seen on the Himalayan 750. It should allow the bikemaker to keep costs in check while also canceling out rider modes which is anyway redundant on a retro cafe racer.
The other major engine update is the twin-exhaust setup instead of the 2 into 1 setup seen on the Himalayan 750. Royal Enfield says that the Continental GT will be its highest performance production model yet. While the Himalayan 750 makes 55 HP and 46.47 Lb-ft, we can expect the cafe racer to deliver more peak horsepower but at a higher rev range.
The new Continental GT 750 also gets a new contemporary looking instrumental console in the form of a hybrid twin-pod TFT display combining the familiar twin-dial layout with modern digital display. The motorcycle gets modest electronic rider aids in keeping with the retro roadster theme.
The Continental GT 750 will be available in two distinct body styles, a half faired and a naked cafe racer. The naked motorcycle retains the familiar cafe racer silhouette, while the faired model gets additional bodywork and a lower handlebar position for a more committed riding posture. Both versions retain clip-on handlebars, though we can expect them to feature slightly different ergonomics.
Royal Enfield showcased the new Continental GT 750 in three color options at EICMA 2026. These are Red Line, TT Blue and Master Clean. The motorcycle also features a revised suspension setup and an upgraded braking system in the form of dual front disc brakes. The 18-inch wheel setup has been carried forward from its 650cc platform with the option of alloy wheels or wired spoke wheels depending on the variant.
The Continental GT 750 will be a substantial step forward from the current GT 650 platform, especially in the performance and braking front. Expect the new Continental GT 750 to make its way to the US though launch timelines have not yet been revealed.
