Road America – America’s National Park of Speed – will kick off the Cheese Capital Festival with a Friday night concours of elite race cars from the Trans Am Series. The procession will roar to life as these powerful machines depart Road America’s Gate 6 at 5:45 PM, escorted by Plymouth Police Department, arriving at Stayer Park in downtown Plymouth, Wisconsin by 6:00 PM. Festivalgoers will have an exclusive opportunity to see the cars up close, meet the drivers and soak up the excitement before the engines fire up again at 8:00 PM for the return trip to Road America. Tickets for the race weekend at Road America will be available on-site Friday evening and are on sale now at www.roadamerica.com
The two-day Cheddar-bration highlights the rich, cheese heritage of Plymouth with a cheese-eating contest, Mac & Cheese contest, a cheese parade, a magic show and live music from the band Doozey June 26 and the Dave Steffen Band, Smart Mouth on June 27. There’s also a chance for kids and kids at heart to race their very own toy cheese wedge down the Mullet River benefitting a local scholarship fund. Taste as much cheese as you’d like and purchase some to take home! Kids have their very own Fun Zone with face painting, a cow petting zoo, balloon artists and more. There’s even a chance for fun photos ops with local cheese company mascots and the Johnsonville Racing Sausages.
