Some project cars spend years collecting dust in the corner of a garage. Others become absolute monsters. Adrian’s 1964 Chevrolet Chevelle falls firmly into the second category. Built almost entirely in his own garage, this classic muscle car now packs enough power, attitude, and nitrous to embarrass plenty of modern performance cars. But what makes this build even cooler is the story behind it.
His dad made him a deal while he was still in high school: get the Chevrolet Chevelle running, graduate, and the car was his. Adrian did exactly that, and instead of simply fixing it up, he turned it into one seriously rowdy street machine that looks, sounds, and drives like something straight out of the golden age of American muscle.
A ’67 Chevelle Shouldn’t Misbehave Like This, But We’re Glad It Does
A childhood Chevelle became a Whipple-fed street bruiser that smokes tires, hauls family, and still looks almost stock.
Pop the hood and you’ll find a Blueprint 383 cubic-inch small-block V8 replacing the old blown engine. On its own, the crate motor makes around 475 horsepower at the crank, translating to roughly 400 horsepower at the wheels. But that’s only part of the story.
Adrian added a Nitrous Express plate system currently jetted for a 100-shot, pushing the Chevelle comfortably beyond the 500-horsepower mark at the wheels whenever the bottle is armed. Better yet, he installed the entire setup himself in a tiny garage with barely enough room to move around the car.
Backing up the V8 is a Tremec TKX five-speed transmission after the original four-speed exploded, along with a rebuilt 12-bolt rear end now running 3.55 gears. The combination completely transformed the way the car accelerates, making it feel like it gained another hundred horsepower just from the gearing change.
And then there’s the soundtrack. Long-tube headers feeding a full 3-inch exhaust with a Black Widow X-pipe give the Chevelle one of those deep, choppy idle notes that immediately grabs everyone’s attention before erupting into an all-out muscle car scream once the revs climb.

The ’60s Chevrolet Chevelle Build Making Mustang GTD Power
This Chevrolet Chevelle garage build is nothing like you’ve seen before.
The best part about this Chevelle is that it isn’t some fragile showpiece that only comes out for trailers and trophies. Adrian drives it every weekend, puts thousands of miles on it, and isn’t afraid to use every bit of the performance he spent years building.
The suspension has been completely upgraded with QA1 double-adjustable coilovers and performance control arms, giving the classic Chevy a much sharper feel without taking away its old-school personality. Out back, sticky Mickey Thompson ET Street tires help put the nitrous-fed power to the pavement, while the original paint remains as a reminder of the car’s history.
Even more impressive is that this was Adrian’s very first build. Working as a technician at a Chevrolet dealership today, he credits this very car for helping launch his career. It’s a perfect example of how passion, patience, and a willingness to learn can turn a family project into one of the coolest street-driven Chevelles around.
If this build proves anything, it’s that you don’t need a massive shop or unlimited budget to create something incredible. Sometimes all it takes is a promise from your dad, a garage, plenty of determination, and a bottle of nitrous.
