Chinese car manufacturer Chery has unveiled two new SUVs, the next-generation Tiggo 7 and the more rugged-looking Tiggo X7, at an event in China.

Both models were revealed at the manufacturer’s Global User Summit in Wuhu, with the new Tiggo 7 being the third-generation of an established model line-up already sold in the UK, and the X7 being a new SUV model.

Although neither vehicle has been officially confirmed for the UK, we expect that both models will reach British showrooms in the near future.

New Tiggo 7 and Tiggo X7

The all-new Tiggo 7 is positioned as a family SUV, with Chery promising improvements to passenger comfort, practicality and safety. However, Chery has not yet confirmed whether the new generation will replace the current petrol and plug-in hybrid range on sale in the UK or when that might happen.

Alongside the Tiggo 7, Chery has introduced the Tiggo X7, the first model in a new Tiggo ‘X’ range.

The X7 is intended to offer a more adventure-focused alternative to Chery’s conventional family SUVs, with an emphasis on tackling a wider variety of road conditions. However, the manufacturer has not confirmed whether it will feature all-wheel drive or any additional off-road equipment.

Technical details are limited for both vehicles. Chery has yet to announce their dimensions, engine options, performance figures or fuel economy.

Will they come to the UK?

Chery’s UK team has previously indicated that the new Tiggo X range is planned for Britain, although the X7’s final UK name has yet to be confirmed.

There has been no word on the UK arrival of the next-generation Tiggo 7, despite the current model already being part of Chery’s British line-up. UK specifications, availability and pricing remain unannounced.
