A normal fuel stop only takes a few steps – pull in, fill up and get back on the road. However, many riders proudly look forward to those rare instances where a stranger glances at their motorcycle during a fuel stop. Someone praising the looks of your motorcycle while its tank is being filled is a moment every motorcyclist cherishes. Harley-Davidson bikes do receive admiration for the looks and heritage backing these up. However, there’s one Harley that consistently makes every fuel stop a good conversation.
Harley-Davidson motorcycles are known to be crowd pullers. The brand dates back to 1903, and ever since, the American bike manufacturer has grown substantially in terms of popularity, performance and technology. Despite this growth, Harley-Davidson motorcycles still incorporate the rich heritage that shows up in their design.
And then there is the sound: a deep, unmistakable thump that announces its arrival long before you even see the bike. All of that is paired with an ownership experience that feels like a membership in an elite club. And these are a few of the reasons Harley-Davidson motorcycles get so much attention, and the brand uses this quite well to its own advantage.
While the signature V-twin rumble gives away that a Harley is arriving, it is the design and road presence that keeps you locked in. The American brand builds its touring bikes big, with long bodywork, wide fenders, and tall fairings – all of which help the motorcycle stand out. However, most of that credit should go to the extensive use of chrome elements. A motorcycle that shines like a diamond will tend to turn heads more often than you think.
Most Harley-Davidson motorcycles are tastefully adorned in chrome, complemented by bold colors and attractive decals. All these elements combined with the sheer size of the motorcycle give Harleys an imposing road presence. Here’s one such Harley-Davidson motorcycle that promises to turn heads.
That bike is the Harley-Davidson CVO Street Glide. CVO stands for Custom Vehicle Operations, the company’s in-house division for limited-run, high-end models. While almost every Harley turns heads, the CVO Street Glide demands that people walk up to the bike and admire its beauty.
With a striking Torch Orange paint scheme complemented with loads of chrome, the CVO Street Glide boasts an impressive road presence. The bike gets more design elements, like an amber-tinted windshield, Carbide Collection elements, a fork-mounted batwing fairing, and much more. Park it at a fuel pump beside a dozen other tourists, and it still pulls your attention. Only a handful of bikes out of the factory look this much like a showpiece.
While the motorcycle isn’t a limited-run model, the hefty price tag makes it an exclusive motorcycle. The 2026 CVO Street Glide carries a list price of $49,999 – making it one of the most expensive cruiser motorcycles on the market. That is a substantial price for a motorcycle, especially considering it costs more than a few cars too. Thanks to a price tag most riders may stay away from, the CVO Street Glide is a rare sight to see. Bear in mind that the CVO Street Glide does justify its price with the equipment that it has to offer – a true flagship experience.
This bike isn’t only about design and exclusivity. It is about the build quality and luxury that the motorcycle offers. Fortunately, the CVO Street Glide does not disappoint. It sits at the top of Harley’s Grand American Touring family, and every major component on this bike is proof of that. Every control surface, every external component feels as though it was made with quality in mind.
At the heart of the matter of the CVO Street Glide is the Milwaukee-Eight 121, which is Harley’s biggest engine in 2026. No other engine in Harley-Davidson’s lineup matches its 1,977cc displacement, which comes from a 45-degree V-twin layout. The cylinders rely on air cooling, but the heads get liquid cooling. Even though the engine uses a pushrod design, variable valve timing is part of the package. Harley went with a long-stroke setup here, yet the compression ratio is fairly high at 11.4:1.
The engine produces 115 horsepower at 4,500 RPM and a commendable 139 pound feet of torque coming in at 3,000 RPM. Harley-Davidson also claims 45 MPG, which is impressive for an engine of this size. Power flows through a six-speed Cruise Drive gearbox, a slipper clutch, and a belt drive to the rear wheel. While the top speed is a decent 110 MPH, the real strength is how it effortlessly cruises at 80 MPH.
To ensure the rider is comfortable, and the journey is tireless, the CVO Street Glide gets some good-quality suspension. This motorcycle gets premium Showa suspension – 47 mm inverted forks up front with 4.6 inches of travel. At the rear, twin shocks use adjustable emulsion technology and offer three inches of travel, a full 50 percent more than previous models. Preload is easy to dial in, too.
The left shock has a tool-less remote hydraulic adjuster, while the right relies on a threaded collar. Three inches may not sound like a lot, but the extra movement lets the CVO Street Glide soak bumps and undulations with more composure. The result is a ride quality that feels refined and comfortable while still allowing for some agility for a hefty bike like this.
Harley-Davidson built the CVO series to dominate America’s longest highways, and the tech reflects that. It gets a 12.3-inch TFT touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, navigation, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and OTA capability. To give you some good company on long highway runs, Harley offers a Rockford Fosgate Stage II audio system with a 500-watt amplifier and four speakers as standard. For more comfort and convenience, you get all-LED lighting, heated grips, full-length rider floorboards, remote-locking saddlebags, keyless ignition, and a USB-C port.
Harley-Davidson offers a suite of technology for an effortless riding experience. You get a ride-by-wire throttle, a six-axis IMU that allows for four ride modes, cornering ABS, traction control, and drag-slip torque control. You also get TPMS and cruise control as standard. All of these features combined add to the ease and comfort of riding the CVO Street Glide, especially on highway tours.
Rivals certainly exist, and many of them are excellent motorcycles. However, the CVO Street Glide does things differently. Its striking color, imposing stance, and rumbling V-twin sound turn heads like nothing else on the streets. This is the kind of motorcycle that will grab everyone’s attention, whether it be a passionate rider or a non-rider.
