Jaguar‘s reinvention finally has a production car. The Type 01 is a low-slung, four-door electric GT that turns the Type 00 concept’s long hood and monolithic surfacing into something you can actually order, and it arrives with the numbers to back up the drama.

Three motors deliver up to 1,015 horsepower and 1,007 pound-feet of torque, good for 0-60 mph in 3.1 seconds and making this the most powerful road car Jaguar has ever built. A 118-kWh battery and 850-volt architecture promise up to 400 miles of range. Pricing starts at $130,500, with order books opening in early 2027.

Step inside and the first thing you notice is the spine. A center console runs the full length of the cabin, splitting it into four individual spaces and opening to reveal brass-colored storage and cupholders.

That brass-effect finish repeats along the tops of the doors in anodized aluminum strips that stretch from front to back, each carrying the Jaguar leaper.

The seating position is low and GT-like. The front seats adjust 12 ways and come heated, cooled, and equipped with a hot stone massage function. The 50:50 split-folding rear seats are heated and cooled too.

Ahead of the driver sits a two-tone steering wheel and a 24-inch OLED display under a single pane of glass. It handles both instrumentation and Jaguar’s new infotainment system, with most functions reachable in two taps.

23

A seven-inch, smartphone-style touchscreen between the front seats covers the everyday stuff, like climate and audio. A matching portrait screen in the rear console gives back-seat passengers control over their own comfort settings.

Much of the tech stays out of sight until you need it. The cupholders are concealed, the air vents deploy on demand, and the storage compartments open to reveal flashes of bold color.

With no rear window in the solid tailgate, the Type 01 relies on a digital ClearSight rearview display. Jaguar mounts it at the base of the windshield, level with the door mirrors, so your eyes have less refocusing to do.

Audio comes from a 38-speaker Meridian system anchored by a 13-speaker Panoramic Soundbar spanning the dash. Speakers in the front headrests and Sensory Audio seats that pulse with the music mean the front doors need no speakers at all.

Materials take their cue from travertine stone. Kvadrat wool-blend textile wraps around either leather or Ultrafabrics NeoGrain, in Dusk Grey or Dark Oyster, while the Design Vision launch edition gets an exclusive Orchid White.

It’s practical for a low-roofed GT. The powered tailgate opens to 15.9 cubic feet of cargo space, which grows to more than 35 cubic feet with the rear seats folded, plus extra storage under the floor.
