2027 BMW M 1000 RR Limited Edition Isle of Man TT: First Look

The Isle of Man TT is amongthe most demanding races in the world, pushing riders to the limits of their skill and precision.BMW Motorrad has a long history with this race, winning its first Senior TT victory in 1939 with Georg Meier on the RS 255 Kompressor. In the modern era, the S 1000 RR and its even higher-performance sibling, the M 1000 RR, have carried that legacy forward, taking more than 20 wins across the Superbike, Superstock, and Senior classes. Those victories have come from some of the biggest names in road racing, including Michael Dunlop, Ian Hutchinson, Davey Todd, and Peter Hickman, who has won more TTs on a BMW than any other rider and set the outright lap record of 136.358 mph on the M 1000 RR, which still stands today.

The Special Edition BMW Celebrates Isle of Man TT Victories

Based on the M 1000 RR with Competition Package, the M 1000 RR Limited Edition Isle of Man TT features exclusive design elements, including a special livery inspired by the “mountain course,” as it’s known, and sequential numbering. It also comes equipped with several premium components that are otherwise optional on the standard M 1000 RR.

Since the introduction of the modern S 1000 RR and later the M 1000 RR, BMW Motorrad has been participating in the Isle of Man TT and, many times, setting new benchmarks.

The modern era began with Michael Dunlop’s 2014 victory in the 1,000cc class aboard the S 1000 RR. Peter Hickman followed with multiple victories, including a hat-trick in 2022 across the Superbike, Superstock, and Senior TT races.Hickman also set the current TT lap record in 2023, recording a 16:36:115 lap at an average speed of 136.358 mph on the M 1000 RR in Superstock specification. In 2015, Davey Todd brought BMW Motorrad another victory on the M 1000 RR.

Special Livery Steeped In TT Heritage

The limited-edition Isle of Man TT Beemer’s most striking feature is its livery, which combines British Racing Green Matte with TT graphics all around, including select sections of the mountain course on either side of the fairing. The left side features left-hand turns, while the right side features right-handers.

The aluminum tank is finished in satin chrome with graphic accents, while the carbon airbox cover features the TT course and TT logo beneath the clearcoat. The black Alcantara seat has a subtle embroidered TT logo on the rear section. Completing the appearance is a laser-engraved top yoke with sequential numbering.

Limited Edition Equipment That Marks The Difference

Underneath the exclusive colorway, the special edition is based on the M 1000 RR with M Competition package. That means the special-edition M 1000 RR retains the 999cc inline 4-cylinder engine and wind-tunnel-developed fairings with aerodynamic winglets. With 205 hp on tap,the M 1000 RR is capable of a top speed of 195 mph.

Standard equipment includes the M Chassis kit, fully adjustable suspension, M Carbon wheels, M disc brakes, and sophisticated electronics. The M Competition package adds M GPS Laptrigger, M milled parts, M carbon package, DLC-coated M Endurance chain, and more.

On top of the equipment already included with the M 1000 RR with M Competition package, the 2027 Limited Edition Isle of Man TT model adds an M Race Cover Kit for circuit use, a black swingarm, rear paddock stand with mounting equipment, and an M Motorcycle Mat (98 x 41 inches) with M and TT logos. BMW will also provide a certificate of authenticity for collectors.

The BMW M 1000 RR Limited Edition Isle of Man TT islimited to 115 units globally, and BMW says a very limited number of those will be available in the United States. The bike will carry a sticker price of $50,000 MSRP.

US preorders will open on the BMW Motorcycles website on September 29 at 02:00 pm ET / 11:00 am PT.
