The internet is full of faux claims, AI concepts and reboot renderings promising the return of the legendary Chevy Chevelle. This is none of those. This is the only NEW Chevelle, a true resurrection of the muscle car icon. It is the 70/SS, a real world rebirth of the Chevelle built on a Chevrolet platform. No AI tricks, no fantasy wish-lists. This is the real deal, American muscle rolling on American asphalt, breaking necks and making believers out of skeptics.
“Yeah, we’re the real thing,” said Tod Warmack, co-founder of Trans Am Worldwide. “I get people who call me when they find us and they go, wow! But people are scared now because they just assume that anything that isn’t worldwide news or on every corner with every dealer must be fake.”
If you have to see it to believe it, here’s your proof.
Caught on cam, 70/SS Chevelles were rolling deep at the famed 2026 Woodward Dream Cruise. Among tens of thousands of other cruisers, including old school Chevelles from the ‘60s and 70s, the 70/SS appears in its first and second-gen versions with several trim levels on display.
“It was so fun to see everybody’s reaction,” said Warmack. “Even the Mopar club – They might’ve had 20 or 30 cars down there. Several of them came up to say how they saw the car cruising, and wanted to say how impressed and appreciative they were as muscle car enthusiasts in general.
The build from Trans Am Worldwide re-envisioned the OG Chevelle for the modern day, creating the custom 70/SS on GM’s Alpha platform, the same one underpinning Chevrolet’s sixth-gen Camaro. Every panel is created from carbon fiber. The design shaped by Alexander Selipanov, formerly chief designer for Bugatti and Koenigsegg. Ultimately, the 70/SS is a love letter to the 1970 Chevelle, paying homage to its heritage, while bringing the discontinued nameplate back to the road as modern muscle. Enough to make a Chevelle fan’s heart skip a beat.
Each 70/SS is custom-built to order, sometimes even made to match an original model Chevelle. Echoing the 1970 Chevelle lineup, the modern 70/SS begins with the base model, steps up as a 396 and tops out as the mighty 454. Horsepower varies within the trim levels, but 50 years of innovation has violently rewritten the range. A standard base model starts at a mild 450 horsepower. The 454 LS6X supercharged version takes things to a whole other level. A trio of equipment options push toward and beyond four-digit horse, climbing to a Herculean 1,500 twin-turbo crescendo.
Every 70/SS is created as a convertible, some openly showing out and others concealing a soft-top beneath the hardtop. Either way, the 70/SS combines pumped-up Chevy power with the spirit of the holy grail of Chevelles, the ’70 LS6 drop-top. So beautiful, rare and outrageous, it should come with a disclaimer. WARNING: This product can expose you to a mind blow and uncontrollable drooling.
