Richard Rawlings has cleared out Gas Monkey Garage on Bring a Trailer for the second time, with almost everything at no reserve. The last time he did this, in 2022, 28 vehicles brought in over $1 million. This time, the final tally landed a long way from that number.

Rawlings Called This Sale “A Normal Cycle”

Rawlings described the sale as “a normal cycle” for Gas Monkey Garage in his announcement video. “I got to put that money in the bank and then I get to go collect toys again,” he said, before firing back at commenters claiming he’s broke. He added that those people are “probably one of the idiots that think I went to prison.”

Rawlings wants to spend the money on cars he’s never owned, starting with a Lamborghini Miura and a Ferrari Monza SP2. He called the Monza “stratospherically pricey” and joked he’d probably have to work till he dies to get one.

He also promised “somewhere around 25 or so vehicles,” along with Harley-Davidson signs and memorabilia. In 2022, 28 vehicles sold for over $1 million combined, though Rawlings remembers that haul differently, at $800,000 to $900,000, which he says he spent right back on new cars.

The 2026 Sale Brought In $315,250

When the auction closed on October 29, 14 of the 16 lots had sold for a combined $315,250. The nine cars and trucks made $294,250 of that, while three vintage signs added $14,500 and two Cushman scooters brought in $6,500.

The 1,033-mile 1968 Ford Mustang coupe topped the sale at $60,000, and the winning bidder had never placed a bid on Bring a Trailer before. The rebuilt 1979 Ford F-150 Ranger XLT 4×4 followed at $50,500, with the 383-powered 1968 Plymouth Barracuda Formula S close behind at $41,000.

The custom 1978 Dodge Tradesman B200 show van sold for $25,250, making it the biggest loss of the day. Rawlings said he paid $40,000 for it “plus another two grand to get it here,” a $16,750 hit on a van he once said would “bring absolute rain.”

Only nine cars and trucks went up for sale this time, well short of the 28 vehicles from 2022 and the “25 or so” Rawlings promised. The 2026 lineup also lacked big-ticket anchors like the 1993 Toyota Supra that fetched $121,000 or the “King T” Ford Model T that sold for $75,500 last time.

Running without a reserve cuts both ways, too. It let a first-time bidder push the Mustang to $60,000, but it also left the van selling for far less than Rawlings paid. Two Mustang motorcycles had reserves and went unsold after bidding stalled at $3,400 and $3,000.

That leaves Rawlings with $315,250 in hammer prices to fund his next collection. It’s a healthy pile of cash for most collectors, but nowhere near enough for the Miura at the top of his wish list.
