Nissan’s confident, rugged pickup truck is ideally equipped for tailgate fun

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Just in time for football season, the Nissan Frontier PRO-4X has been named the #1 Best Truck for Tailgating in the USA Today Sports Readers’ Choice Awards. To select tailgating vehicles, a panel of USA Today Sports editors curated a shortlist of vehicles, then readers and the general public voted to pick the winners.

The Nissan Frontier is a touchdown on game day with tailgate-ready features that will thrill the whole squad. It’s available with a spacious six-foot cargo bed, a 10-speaker Fender® Premium Audio system and the convenience of two 120-volt power outlets and has a towing rating of up to 7,150 pounds. Frontier is the fastest-growing pickup truck in the U.S.1, backed by the confidence that 92% of Frontiers sold in the last decade are still on the road today2.

For the 2027 model year, the Nissan Frontier offers even more ways for drivers to get the most out of their truck with the introduction of a Sport Edition package that enhances SV grade with PRO-4X-inspired visual appearance elements and attention-grabbing yellow accents, the sure-footed confidence of all-terrain tires and additional skid plate protection. It also adds an available Qi2 wireless phone charger with faster, more consistent charging. The 2027 Nissan Frontier has a starting Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP)3 of $32,490.

Frontier is proudly assembled in the U.S. at Nissan Canton Vehicle Assembly Plant in Mississippi. Over one million Frontier trucks have been assembled in Mississippi, part of two million Frontiers assembled in the U.S. to date. The truck’s standard 3.8-liter V6 engine – the most powerful naturally aspirated V6 in its class4 – is assembled at Nissan Decherd Powertrain Assembly Plant in Tennessee5, where it is rigorously tested for long-term durability and reliability.
