New Audi Q7 SUV now available to order
The third-generation Audi Q7 is now available to order in the UK, introducing a redesigned interior, an impressive infotainment setup and an extensively upgraded standard spec to Audi’s large seven-seat SUV.
Sitting below the recently announced Q9, the new Q7 continues to target large premium SUV rivals such as the BMW X5 and Mercedes-Benz GLE, while its standard seven-seat layout also gives it an alternative to larger models such as the BMW X7 and Mercedes-Benz GLS.
New diesel powertrain with quattro as standard
For now, the UK range is centred around a 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine producing 299hp and 630Nm of torque.
It incorporates Audi’s latest 48-volt mild hybrid technology and sends power through an automatic gearbox to a ‘quattro’ all-wheel-drive system. The Q7 can accelerate from 0-62mph in 6.2 seconds.
Adaptive air suspension and all-wheel steering are standard, giving the large SUV a combination of motorway comfort and improved manoeuvrability around town.
Seven seats and three-screen dashboard
Seven seats are standard across the range, with electrically adjustable second-row seats and a third row that can be electrically folded into the boot floor.
The cabin also adopts Audi’s latest three-screen arrangement. An 12-inch digital instrument display and 15-inch central touchscreen are joined by a 12-inch passenger display, even on the entry-level model.
Wireless smartphone connectivity and twin wireless phone chargers are also standard.
Three trim levels
The UK range is relatively straightforward, with ‘S line’, ‘Edition 1’ and ‘Vorsprung’ specifications.
‘S line’ kicks off the range with 20-inch alloy wheels, Matrix LED headlights, heated electrically adjustable front sports seats, three-zone climate control and a substantial suite of driver assistance technology.
‘Edition 1’ focuses largely on appearance and comfort, swapping the standard alloys for 22-inch wheels and introducing black exterior detailing, Nappa leather and upgraded sports seats. The front seats gain ventilation and massage functions, while heating is extended to the second and third rows.
At the top, ‘Vorsprung’ adds huge 23-inch wheels, more sophisticated Digital Matrix LED headlights and OLED rear lights, a switchable panoramic glass roof and a 22-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system. Four-zone climate control, a head-up display and upgraded parking and adaptive cruise assistance are also included.
Pricing and availability
The new Audi Q7 is available to order now, with the first UK deliveries expected from September.
Prices start at around £82k for the Q7 ‘S line, rising to £89k for ‘Edition 1’ and near £102k for the range-topping ‘Vorsprung’.
