Summary
The Mercedes-Benz C-Class Electric is a battery-powered executive saloon that became available to order in the UK in Summer 2026. It is the all-electric equivalent of the ICE-powered C-Class range, which we cover here.
The saloon is brand-new at the time of writing, and only a select few UK motoring outlets have published reviews on the model so far. That said, initial reviews indicate that Mercedes is onto a winner. “The C-Class Electric is up there with the very best electric cars”, argues Parker’s Ted Welford, praising the saloon for its “top-notch” driving manners, as well as its interior space and battery range which typically exceed what rivals offer in the executive car class.
Jordan Katsianis of Auto Express points out that buyers favouring an engaging driving experience are best suited looking elsewhere – the C-Class has been designed with comfort being the key focus instead of driving thrills. That said, he concludes that the battery-powered saloon is ” the most luxurious car in the compact-executive class”, with a “cracking” tech suite and “excellent” battery efficiency.
A consistent criticism levelled against the electric C-Class is its rather steep pricing. Carwow’s Tom Wiltshire notes that the Mercedes is considerably more expensive than rivals like the Tesla Model 3. The price gap will fall somewhat in the future though – the C-Class is currently only offered in a single top-spec guise, and there will be other less powerful models to come with cheaper price tags.

Mercedes’ new car warranty is better than average, and better than rival brands in a similar price bracket as the C-Class Electric.
The duration is three years, with no limit on mileage. In addition to the standard new car warranty, the electric saloon has an eight-year/100,000-mile warranty for the battery components.
