Kia PV7 electric van to be revealed on 14 September
Kia is going after the long-wheelbase versions of the Ford Transit Custom and Mercedes-Benz Vito with the upcoming PV7, its second electric van.
Due to be revealed at the IAA Transportation show in Hanover, Germany, on 14 September, the PV7 will be a larger sibling to the existing PV5.
Teaser images released by Kia showcase a similar look to the PV5, with a snub-nosed front end and tall, bar-like rear lights.
At 5.2m long, it’s significantly larger than the 4.6m PV5, straddling the gap between long-wheelbase medium vans and full-sized options such as the Mercedes Sprinter and Vauxhall Movano.
Technical details remain under wraps, but the PV7 is underpinned by the same E-GMP.S architecture as the PV5, which is derived from that used for Kia’s electric cars.
Given the PV7’s larger size, it’s expected to offer a larger battery than the PV5’s 67kWh (usable capacity) pack but a similar range of around 250 miles. It’s likely to use the same front-mounted 161bhp motor, however.
The PV7 will prove crucial as Kia looks to expand its van business. The PV5 has already proven a success: according to industry body the ACEA, 13,116 examples were sold in Europe during the first half of 2026, making it the market’s favourite small electric van.
Kia aims to sell 54,000 PV5s globally this year and has set a target of 232,000 van sales before the end of the decade.
