Counting Cars ended abruptly in 2021, without any explanation, and that obviously left fans wondering what actually happened to the show. The curiosity also extended to Danny Koker and his cast. While we don’t exactly know what happened to the show, whether it wrapped up due to falling ratings, legal trouble, or something else, we do know what the Count is up to.
Some rumors may have you believe that Koker is battling cancer, facing prison time, or promoting CBD oils on Fox News. None of it is true. The real story is a lot less dramatic, and for the fans, much more relieving. Spoiler alert: he’s healthy, still rocking with his band, Count’s 77, and working on custom cars with Count’s Kustoms. Here’s what’s up with Counting Cars’ Danny Koker now.
The latest season of the Counting Cars show ended in December 2021, leaving many fans craving more of Danny Koker and his fantastic garage. However, even though the show has ended, that doesn’t mean Koker has retired. He’s still up to plenty of mischief, both car-related and otherwise, and there are ways for fans to still interact with the star today, albeit just not through a TV screen.
In fact, Koker and his crew show no sign of slowing down, either, with their passion for cars driving them rather than the cameras. So, despite the show no longer airing, the Count’s Kustoms shop is still running. His band, Count’s 77, still performs live shows, too. At the same time, Danny Koker has turned a few other ventures into successful businesses, including the (now closed) Count’s Vamp’d Rock Bar & Grill and Count’s Tattoo Company.
While cameras have stopped rolling, the work at Count’s Kustoms has not slowed down at all. For those who are fans of Danny Koker and the Counting Cars cast, you can find the gang hard at work at the custom shop. According to the custom shop’s website, they take on new bike and car projects regularly, and all you have to do if you want them to work on your car is to get in touch with them. A look at the shop’s Facebook page shows that the team is still thriving, posting regular updates, and sharing recent projects. They’re still up to their usual antics, just without the cameras around this time.
Apart from the shop’s day-to-day work, Count’s Kustoms also hosts several different events. According to the website, free tours are offered daily from 10 am to 4 pm, allowing you to view Koker’s extensive collection of cars. You can also book VIP tours, where you get to see Koker’s personal showroom as well as The Welcome To Fabulous Las Vegas Sign, Count’s Vamp’d Rock Bar & Grill, and Shelby American. There are also scheduled events where you can meet Danny in person.

The band consists of the Count himself, who’s the lead singer and songwriter, with five other bandmates. These include John Zito on rhythm guitar, Stoney Curtis on lead guitar, Barry Barnes on bass, Paul Disibio on drums, and Tommy Paris on keyboard. Meanwhile, Danny Koker’s wife, Cory, manages the band and its branding, often scheduling shows at the Count’s Rock Bar and Grill in Las Vegas when it was open.
Danny Koker also owns and operates other business ventures. One of his more popular ventures was the Count’s Vamp’d Rock Bar & Grill, which officially closed in June 2025. The restaurant was a surefire way to rake in the cash, and it received average reviews on Yelp and Google. Another one of his recent ventures is the Count’s Tattoo Company. While the tattoo shop is less lucrative, it does enjoy some notoriety thanks to Koker’s success on TV and in music.
In March 2026, Koker launched his podcast, Count’s Kulture, which releases new episodes weekly where he pretty much discusses everything you’d expect the Count to be interested in, like car and bike culture, rock ‘n’ roll, sports, and a slew of other intriguing topics. So far, guest appearances include Eddie Trunk, Jesse James Dupree, Randy Couture, and various cast members from the Counting Cars days. You can find the podcast anywhere you get your pods from, like YouTube, Spotify, and so on.
Fame has a funny way of attracting rumors and controversies, and Danny Koker gets his fair share. One Google search, and you will be bombarded with countless articles and videos about Danny Koker’s illness or prison sentence. If you’re a fan, rest assured, the Count is seemingly healthy and doesn’t have an ankle monitor on him. Heck, visit the shop at the right time, and you might even see him wandering about or working on one of his projects.
Most of the articles and videos online are AI slop, trying to rake in ad revenue by hitching a ride on popular personalities. Earlier this year, TopSpeed’s Jody Only got a chance to sit down with the Count himself and dispel some of the rumors surrounding him. Unfortunately, Koker’s luck didn’t spare him from legal trouble, which can be credited for many of the rumors about him and Count’s Kustoms shop.
Apparently, I am in jail like every other week. I see this all the time… The folks that work in the hospitality room or the store, they come to me and tell me that people come in asking if I’m in jail, and it’s crazy, and it’s frustrating, because it’s so not me. I’m a conservative Christian guy, and I’m all about God, family, our country, my team, and my people.

In 2014, Count’s Kustoms faced a lawsuit after a couple claimed that the shop botched their ‘67 Mustang build. The outcome remains sealed, but it did bruise the shop’s reputation. Another legal storm arose within the company when Joseph Frontier embezzled approximately $75,000 from the business. Reportedly, he used that money for personal expenses, including a down payment on a Land Rover. The mess triggered tax penalties, and Koker sued Frontier and the recruiting firm that referred him. The case was settled in August 2018, with Frontier compensating the shop with $41,000.
Such instances, along with the general nature of social media today, also gave rise to many rumors about Danny Koker. The most shocking one was when fans believed Koker had died after someone circulated his father’s obituary out of context. His wife wasn’t spared, either. The most persistent rumor now is that he’s seriously ill, claiming to be diagnosed with cancer. This started after his noticeable weight loss, but there’s no confirmation. Insider reports suggest it’s simply the result of the demanding nature of his work.
While the rumors may have you believe that Koker is constantly in and out of prison or visiting the court every Tuesday, the reality is quite different. He lives a more diverse life than you might think. Danny Koker’s net worth is reportedly worth $13 million, with the majority of that coming from the TV show, where he allegedly received $100,000 per episode. Then there are his other business ventures, including the band and the restaurant, which have contributed to his immense net worth.
Give a car enthusiast enough money, and you’ll see their garage full of cars. That’s the case with Koker, too. As of 2013, he has 58 cars and 78 motorcycles, including some of the most impressive pieces of automotive history in the world. These include the 1932 Ford Roadster, 1955 Chevrolet Gasser, and his prized possession, the 1966 Ford Mustang GT350. There’s no word on how many cars and bikes he has now, but we can only imagine the number has gone up. The show may have ended in 2021, but Danny Koker hasn’t. As Jody Only from TopSpeed reported after meeting him in Vegas, he’s still out there, building cars and performing rock & roll.
