Fernando Badia takes over Leadership of Sales Europe and International

• Fernando Badia will relocate to Hanover on July 1, 2026, to assume Anke Köckler’s position

Fernando Badia is taking over the leadership of Sales Europe and International. He brings many years of international experience within the Volkswagen Group and has played a key role in shaping business development across various markets through a range of leadership and management positions.

The Argentine-born executive currently serves as Executive Manager for Sales, Marketing and Aftersales in the Latin America region. During his more than 25-year career with the Volkswagen Group, Fernando Badia has held numerous leadership positions in various international markets, including the United States and Germany. A particular focus of his career has been the strategic development of Latin America as an important business region for the Volkswagen Group.

From 2009 to 2013, Fernando Badia also served as Vice President of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles in the United States. In this role, he led a Volkswagen Group business unit specialising in mobility solutions for industrial customers.

Since July 2019, he has been responsible for the Latin America region as Head of Sales, Marketing and Aftersales at Volkswagen do Brasil.

With his international experience and his deep understanding of the Volkswagen Group, Fernando Badia will provide important momentum for the further development of the European business in his new role based in Hanover.

Anke Köckler will leave the Volkswagen Group on September 1, 2026, after 30 years with the company as part of a long-planned retirement arrangement.

The graduate in business administration began her career at Volkswagen in 1996 as an International Trainee. Over the course of her career, she held numerous leadership positions in Germany and abroad in the areas of Sales, Marketing and Aftersales. She played a key role in advancing the sales and service organisations and strengthening the customer-centric focus of the business.

Lars Krause, Board Member for Sales, Marketing and Aftersales, says: ‘With Anke Köckler, we are saying farewell to an internationally experienced leader who has played a decisive role in shaping our sales and after-sales business over many years. We sincerely thank her for her many years of dedication and the trusting cooperation, and we wish her all the very best for this new chapter in her life.’
