To quote Chris, while driving the electric hyper track car (in no particular order):
• ‘Oh my f****** god. That’s ridiculous.’
• ‘It’s absurd how good it is.’
• ‘It’s a new kind of driving.’
• ‘Wahahooooow. Oh, I’m alive!’
• ‘I have to say, it has slightly blown my mind, that.’
Like McMurtry, Chris is a West Country resident, so it was just a short drive to visit the company’s new factory and development facility in the small town of Wooton-under-Edge near Bristol. ‘I had no idea any of this was here, or this was going on…’, said Chris.
Chris also has a good chat with McMurtry’s co-founder and Managing Director, Thomas Yates – both while sitting down and driving together on track – to discuss the philosophy of the Spéirling and all things driving.
The final production-spec Spéirling will be publicly revealed in the coming weeks, with first customer deliveries beginning later in 2026.
