Chinese car manufacturer Chery is preparing to introduce another brand to the UK market, with iCAUR set to launch in early 2027, led by a new electrified SUV called the V27.
The arrival of iCAUR will further expand Chery’s presence in Britain to five separate marques, following the introduction of Omoda in 2024 and the subsequent launches of Jaecoo, Chery’s own range and most recently Lepas.
The new brand will position itself around upmarket SUV styling and off-road capability, supported by powertrains developed by Chery.
Unlike Omoda and Jaecoo which are Chery’s foreign-focused brands, the iCAUR brand is sold in China and known for its SUVs, though under the name ‘iCAR’. For overseas markets, Chery uses the name iCAUR, reportedly to avoid potential trademark issues with Apple, which has previously used the ‘iCar’ name.
The first iCAUR model to reach British customers will be the V27, a five-seat SUV with boxy styling and an emphasis on off-road capability.
The V27 features an upright body shape, pronounced wheel arches and relatively flat exterior panels, giving it a more traditional off-roader appearance than many modern family SUVs.
Inside, the V27 combines large digital displays with physical buttons for frequently used functions. The cabin also features extensive glazing, while its design recently received an award at the 2026 Torino Automotive Design Awards.
Chery says the V27 will use an ‘electrified’ powertrain developed by the wider Chery Group. In overseas markets, the V27 uses a range-extender plug-in hybrid powertrain, combining electric motors with a 1.5-litre petrol engine that generates electricity rather than driving the wheels directly.
Rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive versions are available, although iCAUR has yet to confirm that this powertrain will be used for the UK version.
The manufacturer is also planning to use its new research and development facility at UTAC Millbrook in Bedfordshire to refine the V27’s driving characteristics for British roads.

The brand says that the V27 will be the first model in a wider iCAUR range, although the manufacturer has not confirmed how many vehicles it intends to introduce to the UK.
Another model, called the V25, is scheduled to be unveiled at an international event in China later this month. However, there is no confirmation that this model will be sold in Britain.
iCAUR is scheduled to launch in the UK in early 2027, with the V27 confirmed as its first model. UK pricing, final specifications and details of the brand’s dealership network will be announced closer to launch.
