Ducati has updated its most road-trip-focused Multistrada for 2027. The Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour takes the already well-equipped Multistrada V4 S and adds the hardware that long-distance riders would otherwise spend time checking off an options list. Side cases, heated seats and grips, radar-assisted rider aids, a center stand, auxiliary lighting, tire-pressure monitoring, and full-map navigation are all standard.

It also benefits from the latest Multistrada V4 platform updates rather than simply receiving a new paint job and some luggage. The 1,158cc V4 remains, but Ducati has revised the chassis, semi-active suspension, electronics, and cylinder-deactivation strategy. US pricing starts at $30,995, only $1,000 above the current Multistrada V4 S, and Ducati says it will arrive in dealerships by this December.

The Proven V4 Granturismo Gets More Efficient

Ducati

Power still comes from Ducati’s 1,158cc, 90-degree V4 Granturismo. The liquid-cooled engine uses four valves per cylinder, a counter-rotating crankshaft, and twin-pulse firing order. Output stands at 170 horsepower at 10,750 rpm and 91 lb-ft of torque at 9,000 rpm, sent through a six-speed transmission with a bidirectional quickshifter.

The important change is Extended Cylinder Deactivation (ECD). Previous Multistrada V4s could shut down the rear cylinder bank while stationary, but the latest system can also deactivate those cylinders under certain riding conditions. Ducati says the change can cut fuel consumption and emissions by as much as six percent compared to the previous generation. Valve-clearance inspections remain spaced at a decidedly touring-friendly 37,000 miles.

The Chassis Changes Focus On Cargo

Ducati

The Grand Tour retains an aluminum monocoque frame, steel-tube rear subframe, and aluminum double-sided swingarm, but Ducati has repositioned the swingarm pivot to increase anti-squat. The stated goal is better behavior when the motorcycle is heavily loaded, which makes plenty of sense on a machine supplied with 60 liters of side-case capacity from the factory.

Semi-active Marzocchi suspension is standard, which includes a beefy 50mm fork and shock, featuring 6.7 inches and 7.1 inches of travel, respectively. For 2027, the system gains a fork-position sensor, predictive bump detection, automatic load leveling, and an additional 8 mm of available preload adjustment. Ducati has also moved the side cases and optional top case farther rearward to give the passenger more room.

Then there’s the Automatic Lowering Device. Below 6 mph, the suspension can lower the motorcycle by up to 1.2 inches, before automatically returning it to normal ride height above 31 mph. Standard seat height is adjustable between 34.3 and 35 inches, while accessory seats and a lowering kit can bring that figure as low as 31.7 inches. Easy Lift also opens the semi-active suspension’s hydraulic valves when the ignition is switched on, reducing the effort required to lift the bike from its side stand.

Radar Is Only Part Of A Very Long Electronics List

Ducati

Front and rear radar bring adaptive cruise control, blind-spot detection, and forward-collision warning. A Bosch inertial measurement unit (IMU) supports lean-sensitive ABS and wheelie control. Electronic combined braking can also distribute braking force between the front and rear wheels according to conditions and load.

Five riding modes are provided, covering Sport, Touring, Urban, Wet, and Enduro settings. Owners will also find traction control, three-level engine-braking adjustment, hill-hold assistance, self-canceling indicators, a 6.5-inch TFT display, smartphone connectivity, and full-map navigation. Emergency braking will automatically activate the turn signals to make the bike more visible to traffic behind it.

Trip Ready: Right Off The Showroom Floor

The Grand Tour’s standard-equipment list is really what separates it from the regular Multistrada V4 S. The bike features 60-liter color-matched side cases, heated rider and passenger seats, heated grips, a center stand, hands-free fuel cap, auxiliary LED lights, tire-pressure monitoring, and a rear fog light. A 5.8-gallon fuel tank sits beneath the dedicated Grand Tour bodywork and graphics.

Cast wheels measure 19 inches at the front and 17 inches at the rear, wearing Pirelli Scorpion Trail II tires, sized 120/70 R19 and 170/60 R17. Braking hardware consists of twin 330 mm front discs with four-piston Brembo Stylema radial calipers and a 280 mm rear disc with a two-piston caliper. Ducati lists wet weight without fuel at 529 pounds.
