Underneath sits the Bolide‘s carbon fiber monocoque. On top sits a body with no wings, no vents, and no aerodynamic addenda — just proportion.

It stands roughly 39 inches tall, dramatically lower than any other Bugatti, with 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels that look enormous against bodywork pared back to its purest volumes. Named after the warhorse ridden by medieval knights, the Destrier crouches between its front fenders like something waiting to spring. It debuts during Monterey Car Week, ahead of the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance on August 16.

The Bolide’s cabin was built for lap times. The Destrier’s was built for one person, and it shows the moment you look inside — this is closer to a bespoke suit than a race car.

Leather and nubuck, both finished in a warm brown called “Ambre Voyageur,” cover most of the cabin. The third material is an advanced 3D-knitted textile that does the heavy lifting on the character.

That textile borrows techniques from high fashion and performance sportswear, forming seamless three-dimensional surfaces that are as technical as they are pleasant to touch. Nothing about it feels like traditional automotive trim.

Copper yarns run through the knit as sparkling highlights, woven into a circular “halo-line” pattern that flows around the entire cabin. Contrasting stitch lines trace each component’s geometry, repeated in the headrest embroidery and along the center console.

The hammered brightwork finish from the engine bay returns across four interior touchpoints: the door opener, air vents, steering wheel hub, and entry plate. It’s a deliberate nod to hand-beaten medieval armor.

Bugatti’s signature C-line has always been an unbroken curve of brightwork framing each side. Here it pauses just before the front wheel, letting bare bodywork show through before resuming its path toward the grille.

The horseshoe grille is wider than the Bolide’s, and it anchors a face defined by restraint rather than aggression. Nothing about the front end is trying to intimidate you.
