• Around 250,000 visitors packed Goodwood across four sun-soaked days of action
• Renault presence united rally icons, Formula 1 legends and next-generation electric models
• Renault Originals brought F1 history to life with dramatic RS10 runs and R25 display
Renault delivered a memorable presence at the 2026 Goodwood Festival of Speed, as an estimated 250,000 enthusiasts descended on the Goodwood Estate for four days of high-speed celebration in glorious summer conditions.
At the centre of the spectacle was the Renault 5 Turbo 3E, which made a stunning UK public dynamic debut with a series of high-impact runs up the famous hillclimb. Drawing crowds at every appearance, the all-electric ‘mini-supercar’ brought a new kind of performance to Goodwood, combining dramatic design, instant torque and unmistakable attitude in front of packed banks of spectators.
But it was the moment it shared the hill with its predecessor that truly captured the imagination. Running in tandem with a 1980 Renault 5 Turbo, the two cars created an unforgettable scene, a vivid, visceral link between the rally-bred energy of the past and the electrified performance of the future.
That connection continued over at the Renault stand, where the radical Turbo 3E sat alongside the legendary 1985 Tour de Corse-winning Renault 5 Turbo that inspired it, while Renault’s latest electric models – including the multi-award-winning Renault 5 E-Tech electric, Renault 4 E-Tech electric and Renault 4 E-Tech electric ‘plein sud’, as well as Renault Twingo E-Tech electric – offered a clear view of the brand’s exciting direction.
Renault Originals added even more excitement, with the pioneering Renault RS10 – the first turbocharged Formula 1 car to win a Grand Prix – delivering dramatic hillclimb runs, while the iconic Renault R25 – that powered Fernando Alonso to the first of his two World Championship titles in 2005 – stood as a reminder of the brand’s World Championship-winning pedigree.
Renault’s performance story gained another live competitive edge with Valentin Simonet and the Renault Sport R.S. 01, fresh from becoming the first Renault ever to reach the summit of Pikes Peak. Running in the Goodwood timed shootout, Simonet added another chapter to a remarkable few weeks for the 620 hp, Superproduction-liveried race car.
As the sun set on another extraordinary Festival of Speed, Renault’s combination of heritage, innovation and spectacle ensured its presence was a highlight of a weekend that once again proved why Goodwood remains one of the greatest celebrations of car culture anywhere in the world.
