Nissan is finally bringing its e-POWER hybrid system to the U.S., and the 2027 Rogue Hybrid gets it first. It works differently from the RAV4 and Tucson hybrids. The 1.5-liter turbocharged engine never drives the wheels and only acts as a generator, while two electric motors do all the propulsion. Combined output is 225 horsepower, and every Rogue Hybrid gets dual-motor electric all-wheel drive as standard. That’s something neither of those rivals can claim.

Nissan estimates fuel economy at 41 mpg city, 36 highway and 38 combined, based on its own testing. The first cars, AWD SR models with the SR Technology Package, reach dealers this fall. The full lineup of SV, SR and Platinum trims follows in early 2027, with prices starting at $35,490 before a $1,575 destination charge.

The cabin is one of the roomiest in the compact SUV class. Nissan says the Rogue Hybrid has more front headroom than any other hybrid in the segment and class-leading front legroom among hybrids. It also beats the Toyota RAV4 on both front headroom and legroom.

The front seats are Nissan’s Zero Gravity seats, which are designed to reduce fatigue on long drives. To keep the cabin quiet, Nissan reshaped the mirrors for better aerodynamics, added acoustic-laminated glass and improved the door sealing.

Climate-controlled seats are available on the Rogue for the first time. Nissan’s engineers developed a quieter cooling system and redesigned the seatback so the hardware doesn’t take knee room away from rear passengers.

The driver gets a fully digital instrument cluster. It measures 12.3 inches as standard and grows to 14.3 inches with the SR Technology Package or on the Platinum. A 64-color ambient lighting system is available for the first time on a Rogue. The climate controls are still physical, so you don’t have to dig through a touchscreen to change the temperature.

A 12.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto comes standard. The SR offers a 14.3-inch display with Google built-in, which includes Google Maps, the Play Store and Google Gemini. That screen is standard on the Platinum, which also adds a 10-speaker Bose audio system.

Every trim gets a 15-watt Qi2 magnetic wireless charger, which Nissan says no other vehicle in the class has, and the Platinum gets two. The storage bin under the center console now has a bigger opening, making it easier to fit a purse or bag.

Families get some useful features in the back. The rear doors open to nearly 90 degrees, which makes installing car seats easier. The rear bench has five LATCH anchors, so a car seat can go in the center position, and that gives more flexibility for fitting three child seats across the second row.

Cargo space is 31.1 cubic feet behind the rear seats and 65.9 cubic feet with them folded, enough for three large suitcases standing side by side. Thinner liftgate trim adds about 1.75 inches of length compared to the outgoing Rogue. The “milk jug holder” by the wheel well carries over, and an optional floorboard can be lowered for extra height and to keep loose items from rolling out.

The Rogue Hybrid’s design follows a concept Nissan calls “Refined and Tough.” The body uses clean, bold, sporty lines and sits on a wide, athletic stance that gives it more road presence than the previous Rogue.

The front end has a geometric fascia with a hexagonal honeycomb grille. The LED headlights are built boldly into that design, so the grille and lights read as a single piece.
