This isn’t a detuned H2 wearing a bigger windscreen, and it isn’t a sport-tourer with a supercharger bolted on for the brochure.

It’s a genuine synthesis engineered to carry the track-bred DNA of the H2 across state lines without sanding off what makes that platform special in the first place. Kawasaki’s tagline for it is “Engineered to Be Free.” A more accurate description might be: engineered to stop making you choose.

At an MSRP of $29,999, the Ninja H2 SX SE sits firmly in premium territory. Yet it isn’t simply an expensive sport-tourer loaded with electronics. It occupies a niche that very few motorcycles even attempt to enter — a genuine supercharged hypersport-tourer capable of crossing multiple states in comfort before effortlessly reaching speeds that most touring bikes can only dream about.

A Supercharged Engine Built for Usability, Not Just Numbers

At the center of the H2 SX SE sits a 998cc supercharged inline-four making a claimed 207 horsepower at 10,000 rpm and 101 lb-ft of torque at 8,500 rpm. Those numbers alone would make headlines. What matters on a weekday commute is where that torque shows up. Kawasaki has tuned this engine to load up low and stay flat through the midrange instead of saving its punch for a screaming top end.

That’s the real edge forced induction has over a naturally aspirated liter bike. A Ducati Panigale V4 needs revs to make its case — you chase the tach toward five figures to access the good stuff. The supercharger on the H2 SX SE compresses intake air regardless of engine speed, so third gear at 3,500 rpm already has real shove behind it.

The Quick-shifter Does The Grunt Work

The Ninja H2 SX SE comes standard with Kawasaki’s KQS bi-directional quick-shifter, allowing clutchless upshifts and downshifts while riding. In simple terms, Skyhook tries to hold the bike’s sprung mass — frame, engine, rider — steady in space, similar to how a camera gimbal keeps footage smooth while everything underneath it jitters.

Sensors read wheel speed, stroke, and chassis movement dozens of times per second, and the suspension adjusts damping on the fly to soak up a pothole or a heaved slab of interstate concrete before it reaches your spine. The rider still picks the overall character, toggling between comfort-leaning and sport-leaning settings, but the system fine-tunes underneath that choice in real time.

Brembo Stylema Brakes Without The Harsh Edge

Stopping a motorcycle capable of producing over 200 horsepower requires equally serious braking hardware. That’s why Kawasaki equips the H2 SX SE with dual 320 mm semi-floating front discs gripped by Brembo Stylema radial monoblock four-piston calipers, complemented by Kawasaki Intelligent ABS. Electronics That Manage Fatigue as Much as Risk

The H2 SX SE runs Bosch-based radar sensors as part of Kawasaki’s Advanced Rider-assistance System (ARAS), bringing adaptive cruise control and blind spot detection to a bike wearing hypersport bodywork — still a rarity in this class. Adaptive cruise quietly manages following distance in highway traffic, and blind spot alerts flash a warning before a lane change turns into a near-miss. Neither feature is only about safety margins; both cut down on the mental workload of constantly checking mirrors, which is its own kind of fatigue on a long ride.

Heated grips come standard, too. Fingers that aren’t numb by the first overlook stay sharper for everything else the ride demands. All of it is routed through a 6.5-inch TFT dash running Kawasaki’s SPIN smartphone connectivity, handling turn-by-turn navigation and call alerts without forcing the rider to dig for a phone at a stoplight. None of this makes the Ninja H2 SX SE the fastest bike in Kawasaki’s lineup, and it won’t out-plush a full-dress tourer on a cross-country slab run.
