Volkswagen Canada has officially priced the all-new 2027 Atlas, with the second-generation three-row SUV starting at $53,795 CAD plus $2,450 destination. The announcement, made this morning, covers three trim levels and brings a more powerful engine, a significantly upgraded interior, and a longer list of standard features than the outgoing model.

The 2027 Atlas is built around a revised 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder producing 282 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque—13 hp more than before—paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and standard 4MOTION all-wheel drive across every trim. Volkswagen says fuel economy is anticipated to improve despite the power increase. Canadian dealerships will receive the new Atlas this fall.

Please note that all the prices mentioned are in CAD. USD prices have yet to be announced.

What Every 2027 Atlas Comes With Standard

Regardless of trim, every 2027 Atlas ships with a meaningful set of features that were previously optional or unavailable. Real wood interior décor and 10-color ambient lighting are standard throughout the cabin, as is a heated steering wheel with shift paddles. The gear selector has moved to the steering column, which frees up the center console for dual Qi2 15W wireless charging pads with MagSafe technology—meaning phones stay put without a case or clip.

Safety and convenience items that come standard on all trims include front and rear Park Distance Control, a power liftgate with Easy Open and Close, rear sunshades, KESSY keyless entry, and remote start. On the safety front, the 2027 Atlas adds a center front airbag between the driver and front passenger, bringing the total to seven airbags. IQ.DRIVE driver assistance technology is also standard, covering Travel Assist with driver-initiated lane changes, Emergency Assist (which can guide the vehicle to the roadside if a medical emergency is detected), and Light Assist automatic high-beam control. Every Atlas also includes a 3-year/45,000 km maintenance package and a 5,000-lb towing capacity.

Comfortline ($53,795): The Entry Point With A Solid Feature Set

The base Comfortline is far from stripped. It comes with 18-inch machined aluminum-alloy wheels, LED headlights with adaptive front lighting, LED animated taillights, and black roof rails. Inside, a 10.25-inch Digital Cockpit Pro gauge cluster pairs with a 12.9-inch central infotainment display. A 9-speaker audio system, SiriusXM satellite radio, HD radio, natural voice control, seven USB-C ports, and wireless App-Connect round out the tech package.

Comfort features include 3-zone Climatronic automatic climate control, heated and ventilated front seats, a 12-way power driver’s seat with 4-way lumbar support, leatherette seating surfaces, and new B-pillar rear air vents. The second-row bench slides and folds 60:40, while the third row is a fixed 50:50 bench that folds flat for cargo.

Highline ($60,995): Bigger Screen, Better Audio, And More Light

Stepping up to the Highline adds 20-inch machined alloy wheels, dual LED projector headlights, illuminated exterior door handles, power-folding mirrors, silver roof rails, and an illuminated DRL lightline with front and rear illuminated logos. The ambient lighting system expands to 30 colors and extends under and around the dashboard loop and into the front seat footwells.

The infotainment display grows to 15 inches, and a Head-Up Display joins the package. A 14-speaker Harman Kardon premium audio system with a center speaker and subwoofer replaces the base 9-speaker setup. The Highline also adds a 360-degree Area View camera system, a panoramic sunroof, and Varenna leather seating in Soul Black or Mistral Grey. Heated and ventilated seats extend to the outer second-row positions as well. Optional captain’s chairs for the second row are available for $700, and a black wheel package is offered at $500.

Execline R-Line ($63,995): Sport Styling And Massage Seats At The Top

The range-topping Execline R-Line adds a distinct exterior look with more sculpted front and rear bumpers, body-color side sills, a blacked-out grille, R-Line badging, and 21-inch machined alloy wheels. Inside, the cabin gets stainless steel pedals, illuminated scuff plates, a black headliner, and Nappa leather with microfiber inlays, unique stitching, and perforated headrests. Seat colors expand to include Garnet Red alongside the Soul Black and Mistral Grey options from the Highline.

The standout addition at this trim is a full-back massage function for both front seats—an improvement on what was previously offered. Park Assist, which supplements the Park Distance Control found on all trims, is also exclusive to the Execline. Captain’s chairs remain available as a $700 option.

New Colors And Fall Availability

Three new exterior colors join the 2027 Atlas palette: Blackberry Metallic, Boreal Green Metallic, and Ascot Grey. They complement the returning options of Deep Black Pearl, Mountain Lake Blue Metallic, Oryx White Pearl, Pure Grey, and Silverbird Metallic—giving buyers eight choices in total.

Volkswagen Canada says the 2027 Atlas will arrive at its 152 Canadian dealerships this fall. A hybrid variant is planned but will come later, with the mid-cycle refresh.
