• Romain Grosjean scores his first podium of 2026 with Dale Coyne Racing

• Will Power drives from last to third to make it an Andretti Global double podium and Honda 1-2-3

Honda scored their fifth podium sweep of 2026 and fourth-consecutive podium sweep on a street circuit as Marcus Ericsson led home a Honda 1-2-3-4 in the inaugural Ontario Honda Dealers Indy at Markham.

This is Ericsson’s first victory since moving to the Andretti Global team in 2024. The Swede led 21 laps and set the fastest lap of the race en route to his fifth-career NTT INDYCAR SERIES win.

Romain Grosjean led 28 laps around the brand-new Markham street circuit today for Dale Coyne Racing—eventually coming home second following a massive fuel save effort in the final stint.

Ericsson’s Andretti Global teammate, Will Power, started last in today’s Ontario Honda Dealer’s Indy at Markham, working his way up to third at the checkered flag and completing the Honda podium sweep.

This is Honda’s fifth podium sweep of 2026, following 1-2-3 finishes at Arlington, the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach, Detroit and last time out at Portland.

Fourth place on the day went to Alex Palou who drove from 11th on the grid to P4 at the line. An unfortunate day for Palou’s championship challengers has the reigning and four-time series champion leaving Canada with a 133-point advantage with four races left in the season.

Polesitter Louis Foster led a race-high 32 laps today and looked to be set for his first-career victory before an incident on lap 43 took him out of the race. All told, Honda teams and drivers led all but eight laps in today’s Ontario Honda Dealers Indy at Markham.

Honda leads series rival Chevrolet 1,225-1,056 in the manufacturers’ title fight.

Quotes
Marcus Ericsson (#28 Andretti Global Honda) finished first: ‘What a race here in Markham! This is a fantastic win for us in the RVI Group Honda, but to also have an all-Honda podium is even better. What a phenomenal weekend. Honda gave us great power in the race when I needed it. I had to push so hard during the end and I felt I really had everything underneath me. Fantastic car, fantastic power, and just a fantastic race. I’m super happy for everyone.’

Romain Grosjean (#18 Dale Coyne Racing Honda) finished second: ‘It’s amazing to be back on the podium. We had a really good qualifying going yesterday and then we got a bit unlucky with the red flag, but we knew we were going into the race with a good car. We went with a very brave strategy—but Honda gave us the exact fuel numbers that we needed to hit and it worked really well. The whole weekend we’ve been working very well with the DCR team and Honda on the new track. I’m very happy with the outcome. Of course, I thought I was going to win today, but we have another street course next week so we can try again.’

Will Power (#26 Andretti Global Honda) finished third: ‘I used all my Honda power today! We chose a strategy where I could just be full burn on fuel because the engine is so efficient, so that was really cool. This is my fourth podium now with Honda and Andretti this year and things are really starting to come our way and go well. The track was also awesome; I really loved it. It was so crazy and high commitment and it made for really good racing.’

Mark Crawford (IndyCar Large Project Leader, HRC US): ‘Massive congratulations to Marcus Ericsson on an exciting win in our first visit to the streets of Markham, as well as to Romain Grosjean and Will Power for rounding out our fifth podium sweep of the year. It’s been a great visit to a new venue and we’re all very impressed with the facility and track. Big thank you to all our HRC associates for working so hard and diligently, and for building the best engine and IndyCar powertrain in the series.’
