This is exactly the thought process GM had when outfitting its latest in a line of oversized road hogs, the GMC Hummer. In its current form, the Hummer is, without a doubt, a super truck, delivering over 1,000 horsepower and five-figure torque numbers in its most extreme form. And for its 25th birthday, GMC has something special planned.

To commemorate 25 years of the Hummer nameplate, GMC is releasing a special limited-edition package that will bring the original aesthetic into 2026. The first image that comes to mind when we speak about the Hummer is a gargantuan yellow beast plowing down the road, completely unfazed by road obstructions, which, in the case of the Hummer, is anything on the road that isn’t a Hummer. That sentiment rings true with the new Hummer EV ICON | 25, a special edition package for the 2027 Hummer EV that can be optioned on the 2X and 3X trims of either the SUV or pickup variants and is limited to just 250 examples, according to the serialized badge in the cabin.

The bright yellow paint that became its calling card returns, making its debut at the 2026 ESPYs (an annual ceremony honoring figures from sports and entertainment). And even though it’s an EV now, there’s something of a genetic bond with the yellow paint that makes it instantly recognizable, ensuring the reference lands regardless of whether you’re deeply familiar with Hummer lore or simply a bystander bemoaning its excess. Aside from the new ICON | 25 package, buyers of the 2027 Hummer EV can choose from five new color options and two new wheel options. Those opting for the ICON | 25 package will receive the ICON yellow paint job, as well as a new jet black interior and black front approach shield. Each ICON | 25-equipped Hummer will also receive serialized badging, solidifying its limited-edition appeal, as well as unique infotainment graphics in the drive modes section that call back to the original Hummer that started it all. Those who purchase an ICON | 25 Hummer EV will receive an exclusive keepsake, though no word on what exactly that keepsake is at this time.
