Ford’s $2,995 Hidden Off-Road Package Turns The F-350 Into A Trail Truck Without The Tremor Badge Or Price

Ford has an option box on the F-350 order sheet that quietly delivers Tremor-grade trail hardware for a fraction of the badge price. The XL Off-Road 35-Inch Tire Package costs $2,995 and adds a raised ride height, front limited-slip differential, locking rear differential, upgraded shocks, Trail Control, Trail Turn Assist, Rock Crawl Mode, skid-plate protection, and 35-inch all-terrain tires to a base F-350 XL.

Ford announced the package back in March 2026, but it’s only now showing up on dealer lots in meaningful numbers, which is what’s driving fresh attention this week. Content creator Nick Jaynes tracked one down at a dealership in Alliance, Nebraska, and drove off with a truck carrying real Tremor-level trail capability for right around $64,000 — no decals, no Tremor badge, and tens of thousands of dollars less than it would cost to get there through Ford’s official off-road trim.

What $2,995 Actually Buys You On The XL

Ford

The spec sheet reads like a Tremor cheat code. For under three grand, buyers get a front limited-slip differential, a locking rear differential, firmer off-road shocks, and a suspension lift to clear 35-inch all-terrain tires. Layered on top is the software side of the equation: Trail Control for low-speed crawling, Trail Turn Assist to tighten the turning radius off-road, and Rock Crawl Mode for low-range throttle management. Skid plates round out the protection package underneath.

That’s the same core hardware list Ford uses to sell the Tremor package, just without the appearance kit, the badges, or the marketing campaign built around it. The package is only available on the XL trim, which means buyers give up some creature comforts to get it — there’s no leather, no upgraded infotainment, no STX appearance group. It’s a stripped-down truck with serious trail capability bolted underneath.

The Math Against A Badged Tremor

Ford

Jaynes went looking for a Tremor-badged F-350 and found the cheapest one listed around $80,000, with configured examples pushing past $86,000 once options stacked up. Building an XL with the Off-Road 35-Inch Tire Package instead lands closer to $60,000 to $64,000 out the door, depending on paint and cab configuration. That’s a gap of roughly $20,000 or more for comparable off-road hardware, minus the Tremor name and the extras that come bundled with it.

There are real tradeoffs for buyers chasing that savings. The package requires a crew cab, a 6.75-foot bed, and the XL Driver Assist package, and it can’t be combined with dual rear wheels, an 8-foot box, or the STX appearance group. Buyers who need those configurations will have to look at Tremor or another path through the order sheet to get there.

Built For Fleets, Available To Anyone

Ford designed this option with government and commercial fleet buyers in mind — operators who wanted serious off-road capability without decals and badges that would just get covered up by work liveries anyway. That’s part of why the package has stayed under the radar for retail shoppers since its March 2026 announcement, even though it’s always been orderable by anyone willing to configure an XL.

For overlanders and heavy-duty truck shoppers cross-shopping the Super Duty against a Ram 2500 Power Wagon or a Chevy Silverado HD Z71, the XL Off-Road package is worth a close look before signing for a Tremor. The capability is nearly identical. The badge, and the bill that comes with it, are the only things you’re skipping.
