• DMO powertrain with 544PS allows the BAO 5 to accelerate from 0-62mph in as little as 4.8 seconds, yet also delivers a full-electric range of 56 miles and a combined range of 519 miles
• DiSus-P suspension, standard on the Ultimate, offers up to 140mm of ride-height adjustment, boosting the off-road capability of the ladder-frame chassis
DENZA has confirmed UK pricing and specifications of the BAO 5, the first SUV from the premium technology-focused brand.
Elegance: a premium specification that’s as suited to tough terrain as it is to urban environments
The range begins with the Elegance. Priced from £69,500 MRRP, it exudes a premium feel from both its technology and tactility. In the case of the former, the BAO 5 features a 15.6-inch infotainment touchscreen with Google built-in, delivering a simple interface and rapid response times. This main screen is flanked by displays for both the driver and the front passenger.

From the outside, the BAO 5 Elegance rides 18-inch alloy wheels. Complementing the rugged, upright stance are a set of fixed side steps and integrated roof rails, while customers are presented with the choice of seven exterior colours. Six of these are metallic shades: Snowy White is available free of charge, while Shadow Black, Pinnacle Grey, Wagner Glacier Blue, Dolomite Green and Tarim Polar Gold cost £2,000. A matte finish, Mineral Purple, costs £3,500.

DMO powertrain combines off-road capability, on-road performance and everyday efficiency
The DMO Dual Mode Off-road plug-in hybrid powertrain is optimised for off-road use, including electronic differential locks front and rear, an energy centre lock that can distribute torque between axles 30 times faster than a traditional mechanical setup, and 16 driving modes tailored to a range of driving environments and surfaces.

Not only does this endow the BAO 5 with strong yet consistent torque to each axle – ideal for the precise driving styles that are required over difficult terrain – but it also delivers strong on-road performance, too. The BAO 5 is capable of accelerating from 0-62mph in as little as 4.8 seconds in Elegance trim, and 5.0 seconds in Ultimate specification.
Electric energy is stored in the 31.8kWh Blade Battery, which is neatly integrated into the ladder-frame chassis, and returns up to 56 miles of electric range. DC charging at up to 100kW means that a charge from 30-80% takes only 16 minutes.
BAO 5 Elegance MSRP £69,500
BAO 5 Ultimate MSRP £78,880
