Honda’s back catalog is packed with motorcycles that deserve another shot, and the CBX750F makes a pretty sweet candidate. With its square headlights, angular bodywork, and sporty all-rounder attitude, this ’80s Honda had a personality worth preserving. A new design concept has just come out featuring a 2027 version of the legendary motorcycle. This isn’t an official announced Honda model, but, looking at it, you might wish someone in its product planning department would start taking notes.

The CBX750F Gets Modern Muscle Without Losing Its Eighties Style

Motorcyce render artist, Kardesign created this beauty, and it keeps the original’s red paint, sweeping black graphics, twin-headlight face, and unmistakable Honda lettering. The half fairing leaves plenty of engine on display, while the belly pan adds a sporty finishing touch. There’s a proper passenger seat and grab rail, too, preserving the original’s practical streak. Even the angular tail looks reassuringly familiar. Thankfully, nobody decided this thing needed a floating rear seat the size of a sandwich.

Underneath, the concept depicts an inverted fork, radial-mounted Nissin front brake calipers, and modern wheels wearing much beefier rubber. A prominent radiator signals a departure from the original air-cooled engine layout. The chunky upswept exhaust also gives the design a more muscular profile, although its dark finish keeps it from stealing the show. These changes make the bike look ready for modern roads without burying its identity beneath futuristic bodywork. It’s a convincing blend of old Honda swagger and contemporary hardware.

There’s A Bigger Four-Cylinder Surprise Beneath That 750 Badge

Despite retaining CBX750F lettering, Kardesign proposes using the Hornet 1000’s inline-four engine. The creator describes it as a 150-horsepower motor and highlights Honda’s CB1000F and CB1000GT as examples of the engine family’s versatility. Those production models have different tunes, though, with approximately 122 hp for the CB1000F and 148 hp for the CB1000GT. No actual output or performance figures exist for this digital concept. Still, a liter-class four-cylinder would certainly give this retro revival some attitude.

Keeping a genuine 750cc inline-four would make the badge more faithful, which is why the designer asks followers which displacement they’d prefer. Honda’s current Hornet 750 uses a parallel-twin, so borrowing that engine would change a major part of the CBX formula. A four-cylinder revival could instead appeal to riders considering Kawasaki’s Z900RS, with the Honda concept’s fairing providing a different flavor. There’s no production announcement, price, or release date attached to the design, and its 2027 designation is purely the artist’s vision. But if Honda wants another excuse to put its big four-cylinder engine to work, this square-eyed troublemaker looks like a pretty good one.
