10 Royal Enfields That Deliver More Character Than Horsepower
Character and nostalgia are two big selling points in the motorcycle world. And Royal Enfield is a leader in nailing these things. This has always been the brand’s USP, which helps the brand lure millions of customers each year. In 2026, the lineup is larger than ever, spread across single-cylinder and twin-cylinder offerings. Out of the variety, we think the 10 bikes below nail the character side of things the best. All prices are MY26, although we’ve mentioned wherever RE has introduced hikes for MY27.

Meteor 350
Price: $4,899
The Meteor 350 is a brilliant entry-level cruiser that has the character of a bigger bike. This is down to its likable design, mimicking full-size machines with long fenders, chrome nacelles, and a curvy tank. The Supernove variant takes things to the next level, bringing in a backrest, contrast seats, a windscreen, and chrome exhaust for just $300 more.
Speaking of prices, the MSRP has risen steadily in recent times. You might want to thank the tariff war for that. It was $4,699 in 2024, $4,899 in 2026, and 2027 will be $5,199. There have been no mechanical changes, though. The J-series engine and simple suspension still do the duty here.

Goan Classic 350
Price: $5,299
This is arguably the most head-turning and characterful sub-400cc bike money can buy. Why, you ask? Because the Goan Classic 350 is built to mimic a bobber, and it goes all in on the idea. We’re talking apehangers, striking colorways, whitewall tires, and ample chrome to glisten in the sun. All this while, the mechanical side remains simple with just 20 horsepower on tap.
What makes matters sweeter is the MSRP. At $5,299, this is arguably the cheapest bobber-like bike out there. The prices are rising by a couple of hundred dollars for MY27, so grab it while you can. If you’re on a serious budget, we suggest trying to find a MY25 bike (it started at $4,899).

Guerrilla 450
Price: $5,299
The Guerrilla 450’s USP is street fun, despite the not-so-high power output with regard to its segment. That is achieved via sharper underpinnings. These comprise sporty alloy wheels, more aggressive suspension, and committed ergonomics.
For 2026, the MSRP lies at $5,299. But we recommend going for the new-for-2027 Apex version that sells for $5,799. For the extra moolah, the package becomes sportier and more characterful with updates like stickier tires and even more committed ergos. There’s also a pillion cowl and headlight cover for added visual kick.

Himalayan
Price: $5,999
The Himalayan is RE’s flagship ADV until the much-anticipated 750 version comes out. Yet, this is less powerful than nearly all of its rivals. Where it makes up, however, is in terms of off-road character. Royal Enfield joined hands with some heavy-hitters like Showa and Harris Performance to whip up the mechanical package of the new Himalayan.
That means this is the most bash-friendly ADV in the under-$6,000 segment. Our personal experience with the bike during the review backs that up, as you can glide (or fly) over whatever the world throws at you. We would’ve liked the torque to kick in a little sooner in the revs, though.

Continental GT 650
Price: $6,349
A sub-$6,500 MSRP for a 650cc roadster is brilliant value as it is. But when you consider this is a cafe racer, things only get better. Clip-on bars, a rear cowl, and an indented retro tank all add to its swagger, along with the two-into-two exhausts from the air-cooled powerhouse.
There are a couple of caveats, though. There are only two colorways on offer as of now, reduced from five offered in 2024. You also don’t get the alloy wheel variants anymore, which we feel hurts the value proposition. We will get an updated version of the Continental GT 650 here that’s already debuted in India.

Shotgun 650
Price: $7,299
If stripped-back is what you like, the Shotgun 650 is what RE wants to lure you with. It’s arguably the most minimalistic cruiser-type bike in RE’s twin-cylinder lineup, evident from the single seat, chopped rear fender, and twin pea-shooter exhausts. There’s also a pinch of sportiness, thanks to the USD forks and all-black mechanical components.
Sadly, this has also fallen prey to the tariff troubles. The base MSRP now sits at $7,299, up from the MY24’s $6,899 figure. This will rise further to $7,599 in 2027. At the same time, RE has taken away all the fancy colors, leaving just two simple ones: Sheet Metal Gray and Green Drill.

Classic 650
Price: $7,499
We skipped the Classic 350 partly because the Goan Classic trumps that in terms of character, and partly because the 650 has more visual oomph. Be it the long curvy fenders, endless chrome, or the pea-shooter exhaust, everything justifies the Classic name here. This is topped with a brilliant set of colorways, where the Classic Teal even gets you a color-matched chassis.
Adding to the swagger are nitty-gritty details like a chrome headlight cap, removable rear seat, chrome mirrors, and aluminum switchgear casing. The air-cooled 648cc remains in the center of it all, producing usable torque and horsepower.

Bear 650
Price: $7,499
The Bear 650’s character is down to its scrambler roots. Spoke wheels, a tuck-and-roll saddle, dirt-bike-style number board–all of these touches enhance its appeal. This is topped by neo-retro elements like round LED lights and a round TFT instrument cluster. Oh, and unlike its siblings, there is a two-into-one exhaust here rather than a two-into-two exhaust.
What’s also impressive is the set of USD forks up top and a set of punchy colorways. The latter comprises four options for 2026, which will shrink to three for MY27. However, unlike its siblings, the Bear hasn’t become pricier for 2027.

Bullet 650
Price: $7,799
You must be living under a rock if you don’t know just how iconic the Royal Enfield Bullet moniker is. And in 2026, we get its largest iteration yet. This is essentially a Classic 650, but dazzled up with even more retro elements. The gold pinstripe and single-piece bench-type saddle are two particular retro touches we dig.
If you don’t like it, though, we have bad news. There’s no other colorway on offer here, nor do you get any variants. So either you like it, or you don’t. There’s no denying the amount of character on offer.

Super Meteor 650
Price: $7,899
The Super Meteor 650 is the big daddy of RE 650s, and it is arguably the most impressive midweight cruiser you can get today. A lot of that is down to its brilliant larger-than-life, big-bike appeal, which mimics American V-twin cruiser bikes. This is particularly true for the Celestial variant, armed with a touring seat, windscreen, and pillion backrest.
Currently, the Super Meteor 650 bears a $7,899 MSRP—regardless of the colorway or variant you choose. But 2027 will bring a big change. Not only will the MSRP rise to $7,999, but it appears the Celestial variant will be bowing out. It’s a big bummer for midweight cruiser fanatics who like freeway rides.
