Making the presentation by Software République of cleveR insights: a new approach to territorial intelligence at the service of public action, Renault highlights the role of Twingo E-Tech electric in this unprecedented system for capturing and analysing territorial data.
Designed as a comprehensive ecosystem for data collection, simulation and analysis, cleveR insights seeks to turn fragmented information into actionable, shared and usable knowledge for the benefit of local communities. Mobility plays a key role in this approach, enabling the deployment of mobile observation points to continuously enhance local understanding of the area.
A mobile data capture platform in the heart of the city
To address this challenge, Renault chose Twingo E-Tech electric, turning it into a state-of-the-art mobile platform.
An all-electric compact, agile vehicle, just 3.79m long, Renault Twingo E-Tech electric is particularly well suited to urban environments. It is able to access all parts of the city, quietly, easily, and with no carbon emissions, for discreet, continuous data collection.
Featuring a high-tech arch housing cameras and multiple sensors (for pollution, noise, drought, damage, etc.), it becomes a mobile monitoring station, able to capture all sorts of information on its environment in real time. This system can be complemented by the Apache technology unit, co-developed with Bruitparif, which analyses rolling noise to map the acoustic condition of road surfaces and enhance environmental data collected in real-world conditions.
This capability is fully in line with the logic of cleveR insights, combining fixed and mobile data sources to provide a detailed, contextualised and up-to-date picture of local areas.
More than a concept, cleveR insights is based on a homologated production vehicle. This is the basis for rapid, practical implementation covering different cases of use through deployment in the field and without any major adaptations. It also enables large-scale reproducibility and easy integration into existing fleets (municipalities, operators, businesses).
The vehicle features a specific layout with a dedicated, modular load area designed to carry the additional equipment required for a given business activity or mission (measurement campaigns, maintenance, field diagnostics, etc.).
A design tailored to the urban environment
cleveR insights features a distinctive visual identity that is both high-tech and expressive. The high-tech arch on the roof of this concept vehicle echoes the rounded, playful shape of Renault Twingo E-Tech electric’s daytime running lights with their half-moon design. The nod to the production model extends to the encapsulated line of light around the arch, making the vehicle instantly recognisable.
Designed in a shade called ‘white silver’ – a frosted white with a hint of grey and a satin finish – the arch has a seamless, high-tech look underpinned by a subtle richness of shifting highlights. Designed to interact with its surroundings, it combines ‘warm’ coppery tones with ‘cooler’ bluish pearlescent shades. The constant variations from orange to blue bring to mind the interplay between city lights and the sky. The changing play of reflections cast by the vehicle’s surroundings onto the bodywork visually suggest the flow of information being captured by the vehicle.
This same idea is expressed by the windows with their subtle reflections and wave-shaped rear design, symbolising the flow of data between the city and the vehicle. The signature sensor arch blends seamlessly into a design inspired by the world of Twingo E-Tech electric, whilst clearly expressing the project’s high-tech credentials.
Inside, the cabin has a bright and airy feel, in keeping with the exterior. Designed for practical use, it is both functional and high-tech with technical materials, light grey fabrics with shimmering silvery or orange-tinted threads and embossed patterns inspired by the world of Twingo. Blue accents complete the whole, creating a space that is legible, cohesive and dedicated to business use.
cleveR insights: an innovative solution serving cities
With cleveR insights, Renault is showing that a vehicle can be much more than just a means of transport; it can become a tool for gaining insight into the local environment.
