Dodge Wants You To Choose Its Next Wild Muscle Car Color
Dodge has never been interested in subtlety. This is the company that names colors Plum Crazy, Destroyer Grey, B5 Blue, and White Knuckle, then wraps those shades around vehicles with enough power to rearrange your internal organs. However, modern factory paint menus can still feel surprisingly restrictive, especially for owners who want their Charger or Durango to look different from every other one at the local meet. Dodge appears ready to loosen the leash. At Roadkill Nights, the brand is showing off a collection of loud concepts, unusual graphics, and fresh appearance options that could make ordering a new Dodge feel more like building a custom muscle car.
Dodge Color Jailbreak Cracks Open The Paint Booth
The biggest announcement is Dodge Color Jailbreak, a new program intended to give more buyers access to custom factory colors. Similar personalization was previously reserved for halo models such as the Challenger SRT Demon 170 and Durango SRT Hellcat Jailbreak. Dodge now wants to bring that VIP treatment to a much broader crowd, although exact pricing and availability will not be revealed until later in 2026. The company says its targeted starting price will be aimed at ordinary enthusiasts rather than collectors with bottomless wallets. Beyond body paint, the program could eventually allow customers to play with caliper, stripe, spoiler, two-tone, and other color combinations.
Dodge is previewing the possibilities with two seriously loud machines at Roadkill Nights. A 2027 Charger Scat Pack is painted Cha Ching Green, while a Durango SRT Hellcat Jailbreak wears Toxic Orange. Fans attending the event can also inspect a rainbow of potential Charger colors and vote for their favorites, meaning at least some future shades could be chosen by the Mopar faithful. Dodge has not explained how much influence the voting will have on final production decisions. Still, asking muscle car fans to help raid the crayon box sounds like a solid way to find out which colors people would actually order.
The Durango R/T 392 Smokescreen Looks Ready For A Streetwear Drop
The Durango R/T 392 Smokescreen Concept is Dodge’s rolling demonstration of what factory customization could become. Its gray Smokescreen body is covered by a Cryo Blue pattern that begins near the front fascia and stretches down the sides, giving the three-row SUV a sense of motion while parked. The usual R/T 392 badges have been replaced by subtle “392” graphics hidden within the blue accents. Dodge then added amber daytime running lights, Cryo Blue mirror caps, dark exhaust tips, and Smokescreen brake calipers carrying Cryo Blue SRT lettering. It is bold, slightly strange, and far more interesting than another predictable black appearance package.
Even the wheels join the color party. The concept rides on 20-by-10-inch forged Y-spoke wheels finished in Cryo Blue, while the cabin receives Petrol Blue Laguna leather performance seats with silver stitching. A suede-wrapped steering wheel, suede dashboard bolster, and carbon-fiber trim keep the interior from looking like Dodge merely raided an upholstery sample book. Underneath all the flashy gear is a naturally aspirated 6.4-liter HEMI V8 producing 475 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. With standard all-wheel drive, the Durango can hit 60 mph in 4.4 seconds and run an NHRA-certified 12.9-second quarter-mile, which remains properly rowdy for an SUV with three rows of seats.
Dodge’s New Stripes Change With The Paint Underneath
Dodge is also introducing factory-installed Tinted Dual Stripes for the Charger and Durango. Instead of covering the body with an opaque graphic, these translucent stripes allow the original paint to remain visible underneath. That creates a tone-on-tone finish whose appearance changes depending on the vehicle’s base color and surrounding light. The stripes stretch from nose to tail and emphasize the wide stance of both vehicles without screaming quite as loudly as traditional contrasting graphics. Because Dodge installs them at the factory, buyers should also receive proper OEM fit, finish, and durability rather than trusting a random vinyl shop with a squeegee.
Roadkill Nights attendees can see the stripes on a Bludicrous SIXPACK Charger and a Durango GT HEMI Tow ’n Go painted in the new Redeye exterior color. That Durango also wears the new Brass Monkey Package, which brings 20-by-10-inch bronze-colored forged wheels and black fender badges with brass accents. Redeye joins a Durango palette that already includes B5 Blue, Green Machine, Night Moves, Red Oxide, and several less shouty choices. Dodge says Redeye is available to order now, while the Tinted Dual Stripes will arrive soon. Between Color Jailbreak, fan-selected paint possibilities, and more mix-and-match factory hardware, Dodge owners may finally need more time choosing a color than choosing an engine.
