Today, Alpine marks a new milestone in its history as the final example of the second-generation Alpine A110 rolls off the production line.

Since the Dieppe manufacture opened in 1969, more than 35,000 Alpine A110s have been produced at this historic site, making the model the most iconic expression of Alpine’s industrial expertise. In total, 35,450 Alpine A110s have been assembled in Dieppe since the beginning, including 28,701 examples of the second generation launched in 2017, a symbol of the brand’s return to the sports car market. This achievement reflects the talent, commitment and passion of the women and men who have brought Alpine to life in Normandy since its founding on 22 June 1955.

A COLOUR THAT BECAME A SYMBOL

Over the years, the Alpine A110 has helped shape the brand’s visual identity. More than 58% of A110s produced in Dieppe have been delivered in a shade of blue, including 33% in ‘Bleu Alpine’, which has become the brand’s iconic colour.

Contrary to popular belief, this colour did not originate from the national racing colours, such as British green, Italian red or Belgian yellow. Its story is more singular. It dates back to a specific request from a customer in the early 1960s who wanted his Alpine finished in a metallic blue shade. This tone of blue immediately won over customers and became the brand’s signature, spanning the decades to establish itself as a symbol instantly associated with Alpine and its heritage. This ‘Bleu Alpine’ thus gave rise to colour code 331, which would later appear on the chassis plates of the many vehicles finished in this colour.

From the original Berlinette to the generation revealed at the Geneva Motor Show in 2017, the Alpine A110 has always embodied Jean Rédélé’s vision: to offer sports cars focused on lightness, agility and driving pleasure.

The second generation enabled Alpine to reconnect with both commercial and critical success, winning numerous international awards and establishing itself as a benchmark among contemporary sports coupés. Produced in 28,701 units, it continues an exceptional legacy supported by a passionate community well beyond French borders. A FRENCH ECOSYSTEM OF EXCELLENCE
More than a car, the Alpine A110 is a source of pride for an entire region. In Dieppe, Alpine has been part of local history for generations. At the Manufacture Alpine Dieppe Jean Rédélé, some families have worked for the brand across several generations. This transmission of savoir-faire has helped forge a unique bond between Alpine and the people of Dieppe, many of whom affectionately claim to have ‘blue blood’ in their veins, in reference to the brand’s iconic colour. Over the years, the Alpine A110 has become an industrial, economic and emotional symbol deeply rooted in the city’s identity.

The Alpine A110 is the result of a unique French industrial ecosystem bringing together the finest automotive expertise. This national anchoring is also reflected in Alpine’s 100% electric vehicles, which also benefit from the Le Mans and Cléon sites for chassis and motors, and from strategic partnerships such as Michelin for the development of high-performance tyres. The batteries for the brand’s electric vehicles are also assembled in Douai, France.

DIEPPE IS ALREADY PREPARING FOR THE NEXT GENERATION OF ALPINE A110
The timing offers a powerful symbol: the final second-generation Alpine A110 produced in Dieppe is an A110 R 70 in Alpine Blue, just as the brand’s 70th anniversary comes to a close. This anniversary version carries the most radical expression of the A110 R DNA, with extensive use of carbon fibre, a 300 hp engine and a chassis sharpened for performance. Finished in the legendary ‘Bleu Alpine’ and topped with a black roof, it embodies the brand’s heritage, savoir-faire and sporting DNA. A true handover between past and future, this final A110 leaves the production line today as the manufacture prepares to welcome its successor, the future third-generation A110. The manufacture has begun its transformation to welcome the third-generation Alpine A110, which will also be produced in Dieppe. This evolution comes with new investments, new industrial tools and the adaptation of the savoir-faire that has shaped the site’s reputation for more than fifty years.

Developed on the new APP platform (Alpine Performance Platform), the future A110 will continue the mission that has always guided its predecessors: to deliver uncompromising driving pleasure. It aims to become the first true electric sports car on the market, combining performance, lightness, agility and driving emotion in a new technological era.

From the small garage founded by Jean Rédélé in Dieppe to a brand now present in more than 210 points of sale around the world, Alpine has followed an extraordinary growth trajectory without ever losing its identity. From the original Berlinette to the most recent models, 35,450 Alpine A110s have been produced in Dieppe, reflecting a unique heritage that continues to be written today with the same ambition and pioneering spirit.
