Professor Gordon Murray CBE has received the Robert E. Petersen Lifetime Achievement Award for Innovation in recognition of his extraordinary contributions to automotive design and engineering. The award was presented in Pebble Beach by Richard Varner, Chairman, Petersen Museum, Board of Directors.

For 60 years, Gordon Murray has redefined what’s possible in race and road cars – from creating championship-winning Brabham and McLaren Formula One cars to the legendary F1 road car and today’s visionary T.50 supercar. His career reflects a lifetime devoted to driver-focused design, innovative approaches to enhancing performance, and lightweight engineering.

The award preceded the global debut of the latest supercar from Gordon Murray – the S1, The Special One, at The Quail by The Peninsula, A Motorsport’s Gathering.
