New-look Volvo XC60 PHEV brings 124 miles of electric range
Meanwhile, the flagship XC90 receives the new 246bhp T8 PHEV powertrain. Here it’s good for a claimed 100 miles of electric-only range, compared with 38 miles for the current model.
Volvo claims the new battery will take four hours to charge from 0-100% on a 16A home charger, up from three hours currently.
As well as the new PHEV options, the XC90 and XC60 will also both be available with a 250bhp B5 mild-hybrid petrol powertrain.
For the XC60, the PHEV powertrain isn’t the only thing that is new: at the same time, the model has been given a significant design refresh in a similar fashion to the recently updated XC40.
The changes include a completely overhauled front end, with everything forward of the A-pillars being new, such as the wings, the bonnet, the front bumper and a slimmer grille. A new set of matrix LED ‘Thor’s Hammer’ headlights have also been introduced.
Everything has been changed at the rear, too, besides the rear window, including new lights, a new tailgate and a new bumper.
In addition to these exterior changes, new 20in and 21in wheels will be available, as well as a new Heather Bronze paint colour.
