BMW Motorrad 2027 Lineup: New Frame Tech, Price Hikes, Fresh Colors

The headline change sits with the 2026 M 1000 RR, which receives a third-generation race-derived frame—lighter, thinner-walled, and tuned for better grip—while the broader lineup sees modest price increases, revised Premium Package pricing, and a round of color additions and deletions.

Price movement is measured rather than dramatic. The S 1000 RR rises $80 to $19,975, the R 1300 RS and R 1300 RT each go up $100, the M 1000 XR climbs $100 to $25,695, and both K 1600 bagger models add $100. Every 2027 BMW motorcycle now includes the 600-Mile Ultimate Care Break-In Service as standard equipment, subject to a six-month or 750-mile limit from in-service date.

M 1000 RR Gets a Lighter, More Flexible Race Frame

The most substantive engineering change in the 2026/2027 cycle belongs to the M 1000 RR. BMW Motorrad has fitted the superbike with a new third-generation M Lightweight Frame described as race-derived. Wall thickness is reduced by 30 percent on average, trimming 2.8 lbs from the chassis. BMW says the frame has been tuned for both stiffness and flexibility to optimize grip—a balance that matters on track, where a frame that’s too rigid can upset tire contact under load.

The M 1000 RR carries an MSRP of $35,395 and continues with the 999cc inline-four making 205 hp and 83 lb-ft of torque. Two new optional packages debut alongside the frame: the M Track Package at $7,195 includes M Carbon wheels, while the M Track Package II at $6,995 uses forged wheels. Both are listed as new for this model.

Color Refreshes Across Adventure, Sport, and Touring

Several models gain new finishes while a handful of existing options are retired. On the R 12 nineT, Imperial Blue Metallic ($275) replaces San Remo Green Metallic. The R 12 G/S swaps Sand Rover Matte for Frozen Brooklyn Grey Metallic, priced at $2,025. Both boxer retros carry over their Night Black Matte and Light White options unchanged.

In the adventure segment, the R 1300 GS Adventure adds Aurelius Green Metallic Matte as an Option 719 finish with updated graphics. The same Aurelius Green debuts on the M 1000 XR at no additional charge. The K 1600 B and K 1600 GTL bagger family gains an Edition II Imperial Blue Metallic option—priced at $3,895 and $3,995 respectively—while the K 1600 B drops Option 719 Ionic Silver Metallic and the GTL loses both Style Exclusive Gravity Blue Metallic and Option 719 Blue Ridge Mountain Metallic.

Premium Package Pricing Moves in Both Directions

Not every optional package got more expensive. The F 900 GS Adventure sees its Premium Package drop $120 to $1,905 in Black Storm and $2,105 in Sage Green. The F 900 GS also sees a reduction, with its Premium Package falling from $1,600 to $1,520. On the other side, the R 12 nineT’s Premium Package jumps $680 to $2,000—the increase reflects the addition of Connected Ride Control to the package. The R 12 G/S Premium Package rises $195 to $2,000, also with Connected Ride Control added.

The S 1000 R sees the largest absolute increase in the sport segment: its Premium Package climbs $455 to $2,780, with a USB port, GPS preparation, and Passenger Kit now bundled in. The F 900 R and F 900 XR packages each rise by roughly $105–$115, with an M Endurance Chain added to both. The R 1300 RS Excellence Package moves the other direction, dropping from $2,850 to $2,290.

S 1000 RR and S 1000 R: Graphics Updates and a New Edition

The S 1000 RR adds a new M Sport Edition in M Motorsport Black Storm Metallic at $8,595, while the Style Sport Bluestone Metallic option is removed. The base S 1000 RR MSRP rises $80 to $19,975; its Premium Package stays at $2,490. The S 1000 R gets updated graphics across all three color options and its MSRP increases $90 to $15,475. The S 1000 XR holds its base price at $18,825 with only a $40 uptick in its Premium Package to $2,385.
